Bones

It’s time to examine your spiritual bone structure. For we are members of his [Christ’s] body, of his flesh, and of his bones (Ephesians 5:30). As a child of God, you are a part of Jesus; so every bone in you is valuable if you have the right kind of bones and take care of them properly. What kind of bones do you have?
The Bible often uses the word ”bones“ to refer to a person’s body. Jeremiah said that the Word of God was like fire shut up in his bones. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay (Jeremiah 20:9). The fire of the Holy Ghost was burning within him.
After Elisha had died, so much of the power of God remained in his bones that a man was resurrected by just touching them. And it came to pass, as they were burying a man...they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet (II Kings 13:21).
You too can have the power of God in your bones if you have the right kind of bones and keep them anointed. It’s very dangerous to have even just one bone in your body that is not anointed.
The Dry Bones Lived
When God first made man and woman, every bone in their bodies was obedient, submissive, righteous and holy; and each one was in God’s place to do His whole will. Adam and Eve were in such a perfect, spiritual condition that God came down to Earth to walk and talk with them; but when they sinned, their bones became diseased; and God no longer walked with them.
At one time, the Lord took Ezekiel to a valley of dry bones and said, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone (Ezekiel 37:4,5,7). God also put flesh on those bones, and they lived again. In this great, end-time hour, the power of Christ’s resurrection is available for all kinds of spiritually dead bones.
Just as every bone in your physical body must be in place to be able to function properly, so must every one of your spiritual bones be in place if you want to make it to Rapture ground in this final hour. If any of them are out of place, you will be a spiritual cripple with no power from On High.
Cleanse Your Bones
First and foremost, all your bones must be cleansed through Calvary and made new. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). Only when you have the right kind of bones will the life of God continue to flow within you.
The reason some people are not made new and standing strong in the Lord today is because some of their bones are weak and diseased. Paul said, Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body (I Corinthians 6:13). You must keep your bones clean and purified through Calvary because they belong to the Lord. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (I Corinthians 6:19,20).
You must take your place in the body of Christ and become a part of Him. Having even one disobedient or unrighteous bone can be very destructive to both you and the body of Christ.
Can God Use Your Bones?
Do you have bones of love and faith or negligence and doubt? The Bible says, The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17). Every part of you must be resurrected into the faith of the living God, but many never get there because they don’t completely bury self and yield everything to the Lord.
Put self down today and decide, ”Every one of my bones is going to be one God can use for His purpose, and every one will function one hundred percent for the Master’s work in this final hour. Every bone in me is going to be in place and ready to operate as the Holy Spirit wants it to.“
The Spirit has been greatly hindered in working through some children of God because their bones are not pure and holy. He has had to wait and wait for them to get ready, and He is still waiting on some of them. If there is anything in your life unlike God, then you have one or more bones that need help. God cannot use one disobedient bone.
It is up to you to decide how many of your spiritual bones you want to put into the service of the Lord. If even just one of your physical bones was removed, you would not be able to function properly. Therefore, if you don’t put all your spiritual bones into God’s service, don’t expect Him to work through you 100%.
Bones of Spiritual Fruit
You must have bones of love like Jesus had and not one speck of hate. Paul said, And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing (I Corinthians 13:2). If you have even one bone that doesn’t have the love of God in it, God will not be able to use you as He wants to.
Every one of your bones must be a bone of goodness, not self-goodness but godly-goodness. There is a big difference between the two. God can use spiritually good people just as Jesus used His own body when He was on Earth, and that is what the Lord wants of the Bride. Every bone in her must be like her Lord—filled with love, faith, goodness and obedience to Him.
Some of you don’t have enough bones of joy, and you let the devil fill you with depression and oppression. The Bible says, The joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). The joy of the Lord gives you a rejoicing spirit and great happiness. You won’t have to depend on people for happiness because it will flow to you from Heaven.
Do you have bones of peace or are you always worried or upset about something? The Bible says, Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace (Psalm 37:27). Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). When you have bones of peace no matter what is going on around you, others will take notice and want what you have.
Divine Patience and Longsuffering
You must have bones of longsuffering. Charity suffereth long, and is kind (I Corinthians 13:4). How much persecution for the sake of Christ can you take? The more love you have for the Lord, the more persecution you will be able to endure. That’s why Jesus said, Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you (Matthew 5:11,12).
Along with longsuffering comes endurance. Jesus said, He that endureth [whatever comes your way] to the end shall be saved (Matthew 10:22). Some of you will ask the Lord for patience; but when it comes wrapped in a box of tribulations, you decide you don’t want patience after all. Paul was not afraid of tribulation. He said, And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience (Romans 5:3). Can you glory in your tribulations?
If you have bones of impatience, and you can’t wait on anyone or anything, that is not longsuffering. Impatient people often expect too much out of others and even out of God. When they have a need, they expect God to move right away; and when He doesn’t, they get upset or discouraged.
Paul was a great example of longsuffering. He said, Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting (I Timothy 1:16). Are you a good example to others of godly patience and longsuffering?
Seek Christ’s Humble Spirit
You must have bones of humility like Jesus did. He always did the will of His Father and not what He wanted to do. The Bible tells us that Jesus was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth (Acts 8:32). Jesus never had any ego, and He is our example.
Jesus said, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me (Matthew 16:24). When you always want your own way, it puts you on a dangerous road because you’re putting self ahead of God. It also causes contention with others and hinders God.
You must glory in Calvary and not in self just as Paul did. He said, God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world (Galatians 6:14). You must stop lifting self up and put self down. When you do God’s will instead of your will, God will look out for you.
Bones of humility do not have any vengeance, so you can’t always be trying to make people pay for what they have done to you. The Lord said, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord (Romans 12:19). You must put your enemies in God’s hands and leave them there, but some of you won’t do that.
If God does not do something right away, you run to make war. Then after the damage is done, you say, ”God, I am sorry. I know I shouldn’t have done that. Please forgive me.“ I’m sure the Lord has heard that from people over and over again, but they won’t change.
Self-Control Is Essential
Do you have bones of self-control? Fasting takes self-control because you have to deny yourself of food and feed yourself the Word of God. Keeping yourself pure, clean and holy takes self-control and a mind that is established in the truth. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). You will find so much power and strength in the truth.
Self-control keeps you from going to the wrong places, saying the wrong things or doing things you shouldn’t. It enables you to refuse to read, watch or listen to things you should not. If you have bones like Jesus, you will think like Him, talk like Him and act like Him. Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth (I Peter 2:22). And God will help you just like He helped Jesus when He was on Earth.
The Lord wants you to get your bones in shape to live in and walk in the Spirit all the days you have left on this Earth. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25). Your mind and body were created to live that way, and that is how they will function at their best. Your bones will be healthy and strong and ready to do God’s perfect work at all times.
Self-control brings about obedient bones. Even just one disobedient bone can cause so much trouble and influence others in the wrong way. If you have any disobedience, you must get rid of it right away because the Bible says, The wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience (Colossians 3:6).
Never Waver in the Lord
It may be easy for you to live for God in some things, but it may seem impossible to do that in all things. That’s why Jesus came declaring, With God all things are possible (Mark 10:27). If you have one bone of doubt, you have to get rid of it. It weighs too much for you to carry around, and it isn’t the will of God for you to do that.
You must have bones that believe God in everything and yield to Him daily, yet some of your bones yield only part of the time; and that won’t work. If you have physical bones that work only part of the time, that is a problem; and it is the same with your spiritual bones.
Arthritis is a terrible disease, yet many people have spiritual arthritis. Their bones operate pretty well some days; but on other days, they can barely hobble around. That is not God’s will for you. You can’t be a wavering Christian; you must be steadfast. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord (I Corinthians 15:58).
If you had a spiritual X-ray from the Lord today, would your bones pass? If not, you must get them in shape right away. You don’t have to limp around like a spiritual cripple and go from one problem to the next. When your bones match those of Jesus, you will be strong in Him; and you will have everything you need available to you every minute of the day.
Dedicate Your Bones to the Lord
It’s time to present yourself before the Lord and pray saying, Lord, I want every one of my bones to be just like Jesus. Take out anything that is unlike Him so I can be obedient and do your whole will. I want to walk just like Jesus every day, and I don’t want the devil to be able to put even one tiny particle of deceit over on me. I want to be able to see, walk and talk just like Jesus every day.
Now, let the Spirit of the Lord breathe upon you and flow His spirit of obedience through you. Yield to the Spirit and say, Lord, I make a holy vow before you today that my bones are going to be holy bones from this day forward. I want each one to match the bones of my Lord as I take on all of You today. God bless you today.
