Believing Takes Action

Jesus said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God (Luke 18:27). Miracles come from God, but He only works with faith; and you must always remember that if you want God to work with you or for you.
Faith is acting out what God has said. Some people say they have no faith; but the Bible says, God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). You are not without faith, but you have to use it. The Bible says, For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also (James 2:26).
Don’t be afraid to believe and accept God’s Word. He created the universe and all that is in it by just speaking the words. With a sweep of His hand, He sprinkled the heavens with stars; and He can tell you the names and the number of those stars. He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite (Psalm 147:4,5).
God knows all of us by name, too; and He knows everything about us. But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered (Luke 12:7). He knows all those on Earth who are serving Him as well as those who are not, those who are ready for the Rapture and those who are not. Such things cannot be understood with human understanding; but through faith, they can be.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (Hebrews 11:3). God did not have anything to start with. He made the Earth out of nothing and hung it upon nothing, and it is still spinning around in the universe today. He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing (Job 26:7). Only God could do that.
This same miraculous God of the universe is the God who sees and heals us. He has not changed. For I am the LORD, I change not (Malachi 3:6). We can depend on every statement and every promise He has made in His Word.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Today, He is the same Jesus who walked the shores of Galilee, gave the blind sight, healed the lepers and raised the dead. No case was too hard for Him then, and no case is too hard for Him today; but again I say, the Lord only works through faith.
Salvation Comes through Faith
The miracle of redemption is God’s very best, and it comes to us only by faith. God gives everyone who wants to believe in His great plan of salvation a measure of faith. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8,9). Works will not save you. Only by putting faith in the blood of Jesus that was spilled on the Old Rugged Cross can you become a new creature.
Jesus gave His life for you and me. For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins (Matthew 26:28). Divine salvation is free. Nobody can earn it, and nobody can buy it; it is a gift from God. Never forget to thank Him for sending His Son to bring that divine blood to you because no one else could have done that.
There is no forgiveness for sins without the shedding of divine blood. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission (Hebrews 9:22). God tried everything to save man before He sent His Son, but nothing worked. He told me that when He gave Jesus, it was the only time He had ever used all of His love. God suffered so much when He saw all Jesus went through and then heard Him cry, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me (Matthew 27:46)?
God had to turn His back on the horrible sight, or He would have come down to save His Son; and the plan of redemption never would have been made available to us. It was necessary for His Son to die, and God knew it. He also told me that if people do not accept that sacrifice, they will be in hell one day because God has no more love left to give; and there is nothing else He can do for them.
The natural man can never figure out how to be born again. Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a very educated man; yet he went to Jesus by night and asked, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (John 3:4–6).
Nicodemus asked, How can these things be (John 3:9)? Jesus was shocked at how little Nicodemus knew; and He asked him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things (John 3:10)? Only by knowing Jesus and having faith in His blood can there be a miracle of new birth.
Jesus Brought Healing
Jesus gave us a twofold atonement—salvation for the soul and healing for the body. He went to the whipping post for our healing. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his [blood] stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). The price has already been paid, so you don’t have to plead or beg for a miracle. If you have faith, you can receive. It is that simple.
Who [Jesus] his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed (I Peter 2:24). God is ready to move for His people, and I have never seen anything He could not or would not do. God has made it so simple to receive a miracle from Him, so don’t make it hard.
God told the Israelites, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26). God promised to keep sickness from their door if they would keep His commandments, and He will do the same thing for anyone who has faith in the blood stripes of His Son.
It is the will of God to keep sickness away from your door. The devil will battle your body in this final hour, but you don’t have to stay sick. You can get well, and the Lord will see to it because He wants you to live and work for Him. The Bible lets us know that death is our enemy. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death (I Corinthians 15:26).
The Jesus Touch
When Jesus was here, He healed people wherever He went. And great multitudes came unto him [Jesus], having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them (Matthew 15:30).
There was no cure for palsy in Jesus’ day, but He healed people who were afflicted with it. And, behold, they brought to him [Jesus] a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee (Matthew 9:2).
The scribes and Pharisees were hypocrites, and they criticized Jesus for performing that miracle. And, behold, certain of the scribes [and Pharisees] said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men (Matthew 9:3–8).
Jesus never let what others thought stop Him. Two blind men followed him [Jesus], crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you (Matthew 9:27–29). The blind receive their sight in this ministry, too, because we know the miracles come from God; and we give Him all the glory.
The Bible teaches the laying on of hands as a point of contact to be healed. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:18). The Lord puts so much value on our hands because they are connected with the heart. If your heart is pure and clean, your hands are, too. Then the Lord can use your hands just as He uses His own.
Faith in God Brings Miracles
If you have enough faith in the spoken Word, you can be healed even without having hands laid on you. I only have to speak to some people in the name of Jesus, and they are healed. The power of God shoots into them like a bullet; and so many times, the person is even slain in the Spirit.
Some people in Jesus’ day were made whole without Him ever having to touch them. And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him [Jesus], and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour (Matthew 9:20–22).
That woman had spent all of her living trying to find a cure for her affliction, but nothing worked. The Bible says she had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse (Mark 5:26). Some people don’t believe in going to a doctor or taking medicine, but even the Bible speaks of good medicine. A merry heart doeth good like a medicine (Proverbs 17:22).
And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him [Jesus], saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil (Matthew 15:22). But Jesus paid her no mind and said to His disciples, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel (Matthew 15:24).
But the woman did not give up. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour (Matthew 15:25–28).
That woman was Syrophenician, and she was not of the household of faith; but she believed in Jesus. Her daughter was so vexed with devils that she probably couldn’t even take her out of the house, but Jesus saw her great faith; and the woman’s daughter was delivered.
Jesus spoke the Word to the centurion, and his servant was healed. And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel (Matthew 8:5–8,10). That centurion showed great humility when he admitted he was not living right. He also had such great faith that all the Lord had to do was speak, and his servant was healed.
Do Whatever Jesus Tells You
Jesus knew what faith could do; and He said, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20). Jesus was not talking about mountains of dirt; He was talking about mountains of despair, sickness, disease, affliction and other such trials and troubles.
The disciples and Mary the mother of Jesus attended a wedding where they ran out of wine; but through faith, a miracle took place. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour [of miracles] is not yet come (John 2:3,4). But Mary knew His time was coming; so she saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it (John 2:5). That is one of the greatest statements ever made about Jesus. All the servants had to do was listen to and obey what Jesus told them, and that is what we must do, too.
Jesus told the servants to fill the empty water pots to the brim with water. When they returned, all Jesus said to them was, “Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast.” And they bare it (John 2:8). It took great faith for those men to go and pour out what was in those pots because they could have been in big trouble. By faith, we must fill up our water pots, so to speak, too; and when we are full of faith, miracles will take place.
The miracle that day was that the water became wine, and the governor of the feast said it was the best he had tasted. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now (John 2:9,10). We can’t always see the ingredients God uses to perform His miracles through our human eyes; but where there is faith, there are miracles.
If you study more on this particular miracle, you will find that they were not drinking fermented wine; it was fresh juice from the vine. The Lord would not give people something that would make them drunk.
The Power of the Word
Faith comes from the Word of God, and doing whatever the Word tells you is the secret to receiving from the Lord. God does not honor partial obedience, only total obedience; and you must never give Him anything less.
Jesus knew the power of the Word, and He used it to ward off the devil. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:1–4).
Jesus was the Word made flesh, and God sent Him to us. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14). He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions (Psalm 107:20).
The Word brings health to your flesh. My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20,22).
The Early Church disciples wanted to be able to use the power in the Word; and they prayed, And now, Lord…grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus (Acts 4:29,30).
There was a man at the gate Beautiful who was over forty years of age and had never walked. Peter and John spoke the Word as they were going to the temple to pray, and that lame man was made whole.
The man would sit at the gate every day and beg; so when he saw Peter and John, he asked them for money. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God (Acts 3:6–8).
That man was rejoicing, and Peter gave God all the glory for that great miracle. Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole (Acts 4:10).
Miracles bring people to God; and through that one miracle, 5000 men were converted to Christ. Many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand (Acts 4:4).
Miracles Are for Today
Miracles are still bringing people to God today, too. We have so many miracles in our overseas crusades, and God numbers them. In one place, there were 12,000 miracles and healings in just one service; and then thousands of people gave their hearts to God. He was really pouring out His power in a magnificent way, and people throughout the audience were weeping before God. Even grown men had tears flowing down their cheeks as they cried out to God.
I know all the miracles that take place in my services are God’s; they are not of me. They are divine miracles and healings that are performed through faith in His wonderful name, but they only come through divine faith.
So many churches today are dead, even Pentecostal churches; and you see no miracles and healings in those services because they don’t believe in God like they should. I believe in God, and believing in God means believing in His miraculous works. Will you declare the miracles are His and be a witness to His hand moving on Earth today?
God performed miracles through the Early Church disciples because they used divine faith, but the Lord said it would be greater in the Latter Rain—which is now—and indeed it is. When people see the miracles, they release their faith; and many are now also receiving the Holy Ghost wherever we go.
Act on Your Faith
When you truly believe something, you will act on it; so if you are hesitant to act on something, you must ask yourself, “Do I really believe?” To receive God’s miracles, you not only have to believe; you also have to take action.
If you have been told that a light will come on when you flip a switch and you believe it, you will take action. You will flip that switch and expect the light to shine; however, if you say you believe the light will come on but never flip the switch, can your belief alone turn on the light? No. If you have been promised that your car will start when you turn the key in the ignition but you never turn the key, will the car start? No.
Perhaps someone promised you a million dollars and told you to meet him at a certain place to receive it; and even though you believed the person, you never went to meet him. Do you believe that the person would still give you the money? Of course not. If you did not care enough to be there, the person surely would have backed out.
There is no profit to any belief if you don’t act on it. James knew that; and he asked, What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works [action]? can faith save him (James 2:14)? The answer again is no. James goes on to say that faith without action is like someone coming to you and asking for food and clothing, and all you say to them is, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled (James 2:16).
If you never took action to feed or clothe the person, what good were you to them? Your words may have sounded good, and you may have meant well; but the person is still hungry and naked. Your words alone did nothing to help him. It is the same with believing what God tells you. If there is no action, there is no profit. If you really have confidence in the Lord and trust Him, you will do whatever He tells you in order to receive what He has promised.
Faith Has Works
People may say they have faith; but if it is not divine faith, it is faith with no results. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone (James 2:17). Divine faith brings results if it is used; but if you don’t use it, there will be no results.
James went on to say, Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works (James 2:18). Your works prove that you have faith in God, and it is wonderful for people to see the works of the Lord through a true child of God.
If your faith is not getting anything done, it is not the right kind of faith; and it is not reaching to the throne of God. Then in times of crisis when your valleys are deep and your nights are dark, you will be on your own.
Faith is a direct line to the throne of God twenty-four hours a day, and it tells you that you can call Jesus any time. You have to take action to say, “Father, I come in the name of Jesus.” Then you will immediately be connected with the throne of God.
God’s faith reaches Him, and it does all kinds of wonderful works through human beings. The Bible says, And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15). Jesus said, And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils (Mark 16:17).
Divine, working faith gives you God’s heart, God’s mind and God’s greatness. He wants you to be His hands, His eyes and His ears. He wants you to work for Him and to do the works His only begotten Son did when He was here on Earth but on an even greater scale. Jesus said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12).
The Early Church disciples took action to use their faith, and it worked. Even the laypeople became ministers of the Gospel. They spread the message of Jesus Christ wherever they went, and they got results. They had the wonderful works of Jesus, and many people were being healed and receiving the message of Jesus Christ. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith (Acts 6:7). Mightily grew the word of God and prevailed (Acts 19:20). They preached the Word through faith; and they got results by using the name of Jesus, the Word and the Holy Ghost.
Dead faith will never serve the true Word of God or have a burden for the lost. It will not put self down and do all it can to bring souls into the Kingdom in this last and final hour. Jesus’ great commission to the disciples was this: This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations (Matthew 24:14). When the Gospel is preached with the faith of God, the Lord confirms it with signs, wonders, miracles and healings. That is what draws the people to God.
Noah Had Living Faith
Study Noah. God gave him an unheard-of plan, but it was a miracle plan. The people of his day saw that plan come together daily for over 100 years, yet they still did not believe it. They saw the miracle God was making through just eight people; but to them, it did not seem like a miracle. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith (Hebrews 11:7). The fear spoken of in that verse is not the kind of fear the devil and people bring to you; it is great respect and honor toward God.
Noah not only believed God; he took action to build an ark. His faith was not dead faith; it had works. What if Noah had said he believed God but never took action to build the ark? His belief alone would not have built the ark. Noah had great confidence in God, and he knew he had a promise that came from God; so he moved with the anointing of God to claim that promise. Noah knew the ark was a miracle plan, and he had faith that God would provide enough water to set the ark afloat.
It took Noah and his family 120 years to build the ark, but God had never told Noah how long it would take. He just gave him divine directions, and Noah followed them exactly as God wanted him to.
God talked to Noah, and He wants to talk to His people today, too, through His Word. He said, Come now, and let us reason together (Isaiah 1:18).
Abraham Had Great Faith
Abraham believed God; and when God told him to do something, he took action. That is why he is called the father of the faithful. Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing (Genesis 12:1,2).
Through faith, Abraham believed God; and he left his family just as God had told him to even though he was not sure where he was headed. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went (Hebrews 11:8). That is real, divine faith in God, and that kind of faith gets things done. It is faith in action—anointed actions—and it is very much alive now and for eternity. By faith he [Abraham] sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise (Hebrews 11:9).
There are times when you will have to separate from family members to follow God, but some of you hang on to them. If they don’t glorify God and accept the power of God, you are not to have anything to do with them. You should not want to talk to people who have a language that God hates. The Bible says, Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17). You not only have to separate; you have to stay separated.
You must want to be received by God on this journey every day and night and every split second you have left on this Earth because Jesus will come when you least expect it. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh (Matthew 24:44).
Those who are saved and filled with the Holy Ghost will rise to meet Jesus in the air. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Corinthians 15:51,52). We will be changed from our Earth body to our heavenly body.
Sarah Got Ahead of God
God promised Abraham and Sarah they would have a son, but it took twenty-five years for that promise to be fulfilled. Throughout those years, Abraham never doubted God for a moment. And being not weak in faith, he [Abraham] considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform (Romans 4:19–21).
However, Sarah doubted, and she interfered with God’s plan. Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai…And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived (Genesis 16:1,2,4).
Later, Sarah did conceive and bare a son, Isaac, just as God had said she would. Then she became jealous of Hagar and her son, and she made Abraham cast them out on their own because she wanted all of Abraham’s benefits to go to Isaac. From Abraham’s first son came the Arab nation, and the Arabs and the Jews are still fighting today. Sarah caused so much trouble by getting ahead of God.
Abraham’s Faith Was Tried
Abraham’s faith was tried again when God told him to sacrifice his long-awaited son, Isaac, to the Lord. And he [God] said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of (Genesis 22:2).
Abraham obeyed, and he and Isaac set out for Mount Moriah along with some young men who accompanied them. When they got to the mount, Abraham told the young men to stay there and wait until both he and Isaac returned. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you (Genesis 22:5).
God had promised to make a nation from Isaac; so Abraham had all confidence that if he killed Isaac, God would resurrect him. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together (Genesis 22:6). Abraham did not want those young men or Sarah to ever know that he had sacrificed Isaac.
Once they climbed the mount, Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering (Genesis 22:7,8). And God did exactly that.
Just as Abraham had the knife raised to kill Isaac, an angel stopped him. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son (Genesis 22:11–13).
But the Bible tells us that Abraham did offer Isaac in spirit. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac; and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure (Hebrews 11:17–19). When Abraham did that, it was a type and shadow of God offering His Son, Jesus, as a sacrifice on Mount Calvary.
When God told Abraham something, he did not stagger through unbelief. He took action and gave glory to God even before the promise was fulfilled. If you believe God, you must take action, too.
Lessons from the Disciples
It took action for the disciples to obey Jesus and cast their nets on the right side of the boat. They had fished all night long and caught nothing; but when morning came, Jesus suddenly appeared on the shore and asked, Children, have ye any meat (John 21:5)? The disciples did not know it was Jesus at the time, and they answered him, No. And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes (John 21:5,6).
The disciples were cold, hungry and discouraged; nevertheless, they still did what Jesus had asked them to, and we have to do the same thing today. We must trust the Lord and take action to obey Him no matter what is going on around us. If people would only use their faith to cast their nets according to the will of God, He would never leave them empty-handed.
The disciples didn’t always use great faith; and Jesus had to ask them, Where is your faith (Luke 8:25)? One time, the disciples and Jesus were out on the sea in a boat in the midst of a terrible storm, and the big waves were tossing their boat to and fro. They were scared to death, but Jesus was sleeping peacefully. They finally woke Him up and cried, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm (Luke 8:24).
The disciples had allowed fear to take them over and hinder them from using their faith, so there were no results. Many people today are afraid because they won’t use and act on their faith.
God Will Take Care of You
When you truly believe God in all things, you will be thankful for all He does. Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6).That means to ask boldly and earnestly, and then hold on until the answer comes.
God will do anything for you when you are truly dedicated and consecrated to Him and have great compassion for the lost. Jesus will take your burden and leave you with a song of gladness, hope and salvation for all people. He will give you strength and see that you have power to do His work, and He will even renew your youth. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s (Psalm 103:2,5).
God’s benefits include supplying all of your needs. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?… for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things (Matthew 6:31,32). The Lord wants you to take action to seek His Kingdom first knowing that He will take care of the rest. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).
The Lord will not only supply your needs; He will take your burdens. Jesus said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28–30).
There will be trials in this life, but the Lord wants to be your rock. When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock [Christ Jesus] that is higher than I (Psalm 61:2).
Never Doubt God
If there is anything hindering you today, you must get rid of it. The Lord is trusting you to take action for Him, and He has made all the powers of His Only Begotten Son available to you. Jesus said, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth (Matthew 28:18).
Then Jesus gave that power to us and said, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:19,20). The Lord’s power is available to you, but you have to reach for it night and day.
God’s promises are also yours, and you can say you believe every one of them; but if you never take action to claim them for yourself, what good are they to you? Some people will say, “I believe God’s promise, but I don’t know if it is for me.” How ridiculous! God wants to give you Heaven’s help, but that “if ” is going to hinder you from taking action.
A man who needed a miracle for his son went to Jesus and said, If thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us (Mark 9:22). Then Jesus threw that “if” right back at him saying, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23). Words ending in “eth” mean “to continue,” so you have to keep on believing and never stop.
Then the man cried out, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief (Mark 9:24). You can say that, too; and if you mean it, the Lord will help you. God doesn’t work with doubt. If you feel yourself doubting any promise of God, say, “Lord, I believe you; help thou my unbelief.”
Wavering Hinders God
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:6–8).
Picture the ocean during a terrible storm and see the waves tossing things in every direction. Double-minded people are tossed around just like that without really knowing the condition they are in, and it is actually a form of deceit. They believe one minute but not the next. After receiving prayer, they say they know they received; but later, they say maybe they didn’t. At other times, they wonder, “If this…” or “If that…”
Why would anyone ever doubt God when it is so easy to believe Him? It is actually easier to believe Him than it is not to believe Him. Paul said, Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) (Hebrews 10:23).
Some people are not just doubters; they are hypocrites. They claim to follow God, but their actions speak otherwise. The Bible describes hypocrites saying, They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate (Titus 1:16). People like that stink in the nostrils of God.
Even devils believe in God, but they have no favor with Him. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble (James 2:19). There is only one true and living God, and the devil knows it; but he will tell you every lie he can to keep you from believing that. Jesus said, He [the devil] was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44).
You have to resist that liar, the devil, and make him run from you. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Never let the devil trouble you. You have the victory through Christ, and all you have to do is use it. Everything you need is within your reach. Don’t depend on people because they are weak when it comes to the things of God. Only the Lord can make you strong and enable you to overcome evil. When you really yield to Him, there will be no way for the devil to deceive you.
Act on the Word
You can be free and stay free if you pray, fast and live in God’s Word; but some people will say they believe in God’s Holy Word and take no action to do it or obey it. Jesus said, Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock [Christ Jesus]. And everyone that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it (Matthew 7:24–27).
You can’t just read the Word; you have to study it. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15). I spend endless hours with the Lord and His Word because I starve for the Word. I get hungry for the Word just like people get hungry for food, and I know I have to get alone with God. He taught me how to be in His presence for hours at a time, and the time just flies.
If you really believe the Word of God, you will put it into action. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves (James 1:22). When you act on the Word, you will bring forth fruit. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty (Matthew 13:23). Unfortunately, there are many who don’t act on the Word, and the Lord can’t even get thirtyfold out of some people.
Live by Promise
God has given us many promises to use and live by for a purpose. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature (II Peter 1:4). We don’t have to wait until we get to Heaven to have God’s divine nature; we can have it right now. That is what makes our souls perfect like those of the first Adam and Eve were before they went to the tree of death and sinned.
God has promised us that Jesus will return to take His Bride out before the horrible, seven-year Tribulation Period begins. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:16,17).
Through obedience, love, the blood and the Holy Ghost, we will be lifted up from the Earth as one great army. Do you believe that promise? Jesus said, Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them [all peoples] that dwell upon the earth (Revelation 3:10).
We have to take this Gospel to the ends of the Earth. Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). The Lord has let me know that we have to finish the work His Son started. Can God count on you to help do that?
It Takes Action to Be Saved
Many people are taught that if you believe in Jesus, you will be saved; but belief alone does not save you. You must take action to confess your sins. If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9,10).
Then you have to continue to believe in order to have eternal life. Jesus said, He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned (Mark 16:16). He also said, That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:15).
Just because you have been born again does not mean you can stop believing and taking action on what you believe. You can’t stop walking in the steps of Jesus and obeying His commands. Many people today believe in a once-saved-always-saved doctrine, but there is no such thing. When you cease to believe and take action, your salvation will be lost; and you will be in trouble.
You can’t receive salvation through human faith; it takes divine faith to believe that the blood of Jesus will wash away all your sins. Foras-much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot (I Peter 1:18,19).
It takes divine faith to believe the holy blood Jesus brought from Heaven is still in action today and will save anyone who sincerely repents. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17).
When you accept Jesus into your heart, you become a new creation in Christ Jesus. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17).
Give Your Heart to the Lord
If you are unsaved, accept Jesus today. The Lord is a forgiving God. No one has ever loved you like Jesus loves you, and no one has ever cared for you like He cares. You must believe that He is reaching out for you, and you must settle that in your mind. Then the Lord will sweep you into His arms of love and wash away all your sins, and your salvation will come immediately. You will have no more doubt or fear about it, and it will be settled in Heaven and on Earth.
Pray the sinner’s prayer with me, and let’s get rid of all your sins. Oh, God, save my soul! Forgive me of all my sins. I am so sorry I sinned against you, Lord! I believe in the blood of Jesus, and I believe that blood washes away all my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in! If you meant that prayer, you can rejoice and praise the Lord that Jesus has come into your heart.
Now, you can say as the Psalmist did, I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). But you can never go back to the tree of death. You must live pure and holy so you can enjoy the fruits of the Tree of Life. That tree is within your reach while you are right here on Earth, and you will find such greatness and life in that tree. It has everything you need to fight against the powers of Lucifer while you are on your way to Heaven.
Receive the Holy Ghost
After being saved, you must go on to receive the Holy Ghost. You may say you believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost; but if you take no action to receive it, your belief alone will not baptize you. Jesus commanded His disciples to tarry until they received. Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49).
The disciples were told to take action and not give up. Some who are seeking for the Holy Ghost today will pray for just a little while, and that is all. Don’t they know that if the Rapture takes place, they won’t go? We are the Rapture generation, and everyone who wants to be on that one flight out must have the Holy Ghost.
The Lord told me it would take more power to go to Heaven when Jesus comes than it will to go by way of the grave. You can be saved in the name of Jesus and go to Heaven, but God has told me three different times that no one will make the Rapture without the Holy Ghost.
Believe to Receive
If you need a miracle for yourself or your child, get ready to receive right now. Jesus said, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you (John 16:23). When you act out God’s Word in faith believing, God will give you what you need; so use your faith today.
Lord, I bring the cancer victims, the diabetics, those who have had strokes, those who are crippled and those with heart trouble or lung trouble to you. Lord, I bring those with AIDS, those who are in a dying condition and those with little, afflicted ones. I bring them all to you, Lord, in your faith. I believe your healing power is flowing; and in the name of Jesus, heal. Heal! in the all-powerful name of Jesus!
Divine miracle power is in the vision in a beautiful way, and I am beholding it. The Lord is right there where you are. Watch all improvements daily, and glorify the Lord for each one. Thank God and close your case, and then write and tell me what happened to you today so I can rejoice with you.
Study what you have learned in this message like you have never studied anything before because thus saith the Lord, it can take you on into the greatness of God. May God’s blessings be upon you.
