There will be times in this life when each one of you will have to wait on the Lord. It is not always pleasant, but it is necessary; and you must be very careful to wait on the Lord the right way and in the right place. The first thing to do when you are waiting on God is to make sure you are in His waiting room. If you have an appointment with a doctor or a businessman, you must be in that person’s waiting room in order to see them. God has a waiting room as well; and you must make sure you are in it if you want Him to meet you and give you His answers, miracles and directions.

Many children of God have not been careful in times of waiting. Thinking the wait was too long, they charged ahead to do their own thing; but their impatience took them out of the will of God. You must never get ahead of God no matter what you may be facing. When the Children of Israel were facing the Red Sea, Moses told them, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation [the deliverance] of the LORD (Exodus 14:13). God could not separate the waters of the Red Sea for the people until they stood still and got quiet.

The Israelites Did Not Wait

Moses’ brother Aaron was with him from the time God put His divine plan into action to deliver the Israelites out of Egyptian bondage. Aaron witnessed the miraculous hand of God time after time; but when Moses was on Mount Sinai for forty days receiving the Ten Commandments from God, Aaron and the people got tired of waiting, and they corrupted themselves. And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him (Exodus 32:1).

The people gave Aaron all the gold jewelry God had moved on the Egyptians to give them when they left Egypt, and he melted it down and made a golden calf. Then the people worshipped that idol image. And they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, Tomorrow is a feast to the LORD [their idol god]. And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play (Exodus 32:4-6). Oh, how quickly they forgot all that God had done for them, and people are doing the same thing today.

When you are not careful to wait on the Lord the right way, you will become miserable; however, that misery will ease when you listen to the devil and turn aside to do your own thing. You may even feel a sense of relief and renewed energy, but the relief is only temporary because it is based on your own feelings and the devil’s deceit.

Aaron and the Israelites were so selfish and ungrateful to turn aside so quickly after all God had done for them, but the same thing can happen to you if you don’t wait the right way and expect God’s promises to be fulfilled. Isaiah the prophet wrote, And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation (Isaiah 25:9).

Never allow unexpected situations to hinder your belief in what God has promised, and it won’t if you wait with your hope and trust in the Word. You must never lose faith in the Word or let anyone turn you away from the Gospel truth. The Bible says, Wait on thy God continually (Hosea 12:6). You must do that with patience, love, peace and grace; and you must understand what God’s will is for you.

God’s Ways Are Greater

In times of waiting, you can be tempted to lean to your own understanding and try to figure things out with your own human knowledge; but the Bible says, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6).

You have to wait on God knowing that His knowledge is greater than your knowledge, and His ways are higher than your ways. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8,9).

When you want God’s ways, He will strengthen you to wait on Him. Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness (Colossians 1:11). When you use all the might of God available to you, you can overcome anything that comes your way. Day after day, you will know that the Lord will make the way for you. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Never let worry and fear take over; just keep your eyes on God’s promises and expect them to be fulfilled. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass (Psalm 37:7). Don’t let it bother you when you see sinners prospering more than you are because their prosperity is only temporary, and your prosperity in the Lord is eternal. When sinners die, they will leave all their wealth behind and find themselves in a burning hell forever.

You must wait without one doubt and know that when God’s answer comes, it will be greater than anything you could ever ask for or even think. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power [of the Holy Ghost] that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20).

Are You in God’s Place?

Have you ever felt disappointed and defeated when you were waiting on the Lord? If so, were you really waiting on God the right way and in the right place? If not, that is why you didn’t come in contact with Him. Take a look at the story of the man at the pool of Bethesda. After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had (John 5:1-4). That was something very special and miraculous that God made available to those people.

And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole (John 5:5,6)? The Lord is saying that to people today, too.

That man was a sinner, but he had a courageous and willing heart; and he had respect in his heart for God. Jesus knew that, and that is why He asked him that question. Then the man answered Him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me (John 5:7).

The man was waiting for the power of God to move the waters because he knew that divine power would make him whole. He had great faith and determination; and although he had been at that pool many times, someone would always step in ahead of him.

Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked (John 5:8,9). That man was at the right place at the right time with an obedient heart. It was the only place he knew of to wait upon God, and it was the right place because Jesus found him there. When Jesus told the man to take up his bed and walk, he didn’t say, “I can’t walk, much less carry that bed.” That man jumped up and then walked down the road carrying his bed.

How Are You Waiting?

Many people who say they are waiting on the Lord are not really ready for the moving of the water. During long waits, some have given in to grumbling and complaining; and that just strengthens their discontentment and even stirs it up in others. The Bible says, The LORD is good unto them that wait for him [His way], to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation [the deliverance you need] of the LORD (Lamentations 3:25,26).

Most people approach their waiting periods the wrong way and then become disappointed because nothing is happening. The reason they are not seeing results is because they are not waiting on the Lord the right way or in the right place. If they were, God promised He would move for them.

God has made wonderful promises to His children, and He is ready to fulfill them for you. Have you ever gone through the Bible to find all the great things God has promised to people who wait upon Him? Have you studied the courage, hope and strength that can be yours? Many people have fooled themselves and said they were waiting upon the Lord when they were really fearful, depressed and discouraged. If that describes you, God will never be able to move when you are in that condition.

When God makes you a promise, you have to claim it God’s way if you want His results. When Jesus was on Earth, He got results because He did things God’s way. He was in the right place at all times, and you can be too when you take on Jesus’ divine nature. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature (II Peter 1:4).

Jesus was full of faith, and waiting on God with that same faith is the only way to wait on Him. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). But how many times have you waited on God without having the faith of God? You have to get into the “faith place” if you want God to really move for you. You could have had a miracle or the answer you needed so many times if only you had been in the right place at the right time.

Only when you wait on God in faith are you pleasing Him. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).

Fasting God’s Way

Many people decide to fast while they are waiting on God for something they need, but they don’t make it a Bible fast. If you are not feeding your soul and your spirit with the Word, you are not on a real Bible fast. Jesus said, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). While fasting, you have to be careful to live in the Spirit, the strength, the faith and the love of God. That will put you on pleasing ground. Fasting just so you can tell others you are fasting is not really waiting on the Lord.

There may be times during your fast when you feel like you can hardly carry on, but that is because you are not dining with the Word enough. Jeremiah said, Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart (Jeremiah 15:16). You have to eat the Word and digest it.

A real Bible fast will bring about some of the most precious times between you and God. It will put you on holy ground, which is also miracle ground. There, you will really meet the Lord, and Heaven will come down to you.

Depend on God’s Strength

When you use the Word the right way, the Lord will give you strength for the journey just like He did Elijah. And as he [Elijah] lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee. And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God (I Kings 19:5-8).

That angel must have fed Elijah heavenly manna for him to be able to go forty days and nights in the strength of those meals. The Lord will feed you spiritual strength from On High too, but you have to be on receiving ground.

Elijah was sitting under that juniper tree because he had just killed 450 prophets of Baal and an additional 400 prophets of the groves, and Jezebel was furious. She was coming after him to kill him, and Elijah was running scared. He thought everybody but him had forsaken God. The altars of God had been torn down, and he thought everybody had kissed the mouth of Baal; so he ran for the wilderness. He finally fell down under that juniper tree and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers (I Kings 19:4).

Now, that is not the way to wait on God. He had mercy on Elijah at that time, but He expects more out of us today because we are living in the Holy Ghost dispensation. If you are waiting on the Lord the right way, you will not be asking Him to kill you. The Bible says, Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD (Psalm 27:14).

That verse is not talking about the courage man tries to muster up. It is referring to divine, holy, blood courage; and the strength it refers to is miraculous strength. It takes heavenly courage and divine strength to stay on the right road, and you must draw on that strength every day.

Bow to God’s Will

Throughout the Bible, you can find God coming down to man at different times; but the greatest of those times was when Jesus came to Earth with all the love of Heaven. The Father and the Son gave everything they had at Calvary so people could live in Heaven with them one day.

God had to patiently watch and wait while His Son suffered and gave His life, and it took all of Heaven’s courage for God to stay in Heaven during that time. It took Heaven’s courage for Jesus to go forward with the plan of salvation; and He proved that in the Garden of Gethsemane when He said, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done (Luke 22:42). You have to wait on God and sincerely want His will to be done.

Some of you may think you have endured your own personal Gethsemane; but you have never been yielded to God enough to say, “Father, I only want your will to be done, and I will bow to whatever it is.” When you truly want your life to be everything God wants it to be, you are on receiving ground. Many people have fooled themselves into thinking they were on receiving ground, but it was not God’s receiving ground.

You have to bow before God with the meekness of Jesus. If you have an arrogant, rebellious or haughty spirit, you are in the wrong place; and the Lord will not find you when He comes down to help you. To be able to meet God, you have to be willing to go His way; and He will give you everything you need to do that.

The Lord will give you patience to wait on Him; but it will be His patience, not yours. Human patience is not enough, and that is why longsuffering is one of the fruits of the Spirit the Holy Spirit produces within you.

When you are patiently waiting on the Lord, you must wait in His promises and in His holy Word. Don’t look for your own place to wait when the Word of God tells you how and where to wait. If you do, you will just stumble along and blame God for not answering or moving for you when it is your own fault.

If you are supposed to meet somebody at a certain place, you have to be there; or you won’t see them, and it is the same way with God. He tells you where He will meet you, and you have to be there; or He won’t be able to help you.

God’s Timing Is Perfect

All those whom Jesus found really waiting on Him when He was here received something. Mary and Martha were waiting for Jesus in the right place and in the right way even after their brother, Lazarus, had died. They believed Jesus was the Son of God, and they had faith in Him; but they just didn’t understand why Jesus had not come sooner.

When Jesus finally arrived, Martha said, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died (John 11:21). But Jesus had everything under control. He had to get things in place before the miracle could happen, and witnesses had to be there.

Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day (John 11:23,24). And Jesus responded, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God (John 11:40)? Then victory came at the right time, and Lazarus came forth from the grave.

It may look like Jesus is too late for you, too; but He is never late. If you believe, you will see the glory in your situation as long as you are waiting on God the right way and in the right place.

Jesus was able to perform that resurrection miracle because Lazarus had divine faith and love in his heart before he died. The saints of God will have that same faith and love in their hearts, and that is why the bodies of those who died in Christ will come out of their graves on Rapture Day. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Corinthians 15:51,52).

God Wants to Serve You

When you reach up, God will always reach down to give you what you need. When your heart is pure and clean before Him, He is ready to serve you. Jesus said, Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20). The Lord is at your door daily wanting to come in and fellowship with you.

Are you fellowshipping with the Lord or with people who talk doubt, fear, frustration and despair? They back up to your door to unload a big pile of problems on you and to tell you how hard they are having it, and you allow it. You need to turn a deaf ear to them. Sure, they may get hurt; but who do you think should be hurt, people or God?

The Bible tells you exactly how to get great results‐through eternal love, faith and grace. Those things will never fail you; and in them, you will find the favor of God, the greatness of Heaven and the heart of God beating for you. Some of you act like God is trying to run away from you when you are the one who is running.

The disciples ran from Jesus when He needed them the most because they were not praying and looking to God like they should have been. When the soldiers came to arrest Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Bible says, Then all the disciples forsook him [Jesus], and fled (Matthew 26:56). If they had prayed like they should have and taken on the courage and strength of the Lord, they would have stood by Jesus.

After Adam and Eve sinned, they hid from God. When He came down into Eden and could not find them, He asked, Where art thou (Genesis 3:9)? Some of you are hiding from God today instead of being at the place you need to be to wait on Him, so you need to go to the Bible and find out where you are in the Lord. It is your roadmap to Heaven.

It is time to wake up and realize that the Lord is ready to help you; He is just waiting for you to get in place. You haven’t been doing things according to God’s instructions or your life would be different, so you need to get on pleasing ground and have the will to please the Father in everything.

Wait in Grace and Peace

You have to live in the grace of God that Jesus brought to Earth for us. Paul learned what that grace could do when the Lord declared to him, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (II Corinthians 12:9).

Divine grace is all the favor of God; so when you are waiting in the favor of God, you should have no doubt that God is going to move for you because He promised He would. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work (II Corinthians 9:8).

God’s promises are worth more than all the wealth of the world, and you can have armfuls of them; but you must claim them and stand on them. The Bible says, Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 6:13). When you have done all you know to do, then stand on God’s promises and patiently wait for their fulfillment.

Many Christians have struggled way too long trying to get prayers answered because they were not waiting in the right place, and then they became discouraged. This is no time to sit around wondering why God doesn’t answer your prayers; you have to move to God’s waiting ground where He can bless you, help you and deliver you.

Waiting on God the right way means waiting in His peace, yet some people have the spirit of a mean, old bulldog; and they snap at and glare at people. Where is the peace in that? The Bible says, And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If you don’t have that divine peace, you are not on pleasing ground; and you are in trouble. You will find yourself running around in circles and going nowhere just like the Israelites did in the wilderness for forty years.

If you want to run, you must run God’s race that Paul told about. Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1).

Stop Worrying

You must wait on God in full assurance, but how many doubts do you have? Paul said, Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith (Hebrews 10:22). If you don’t believe God is going to help you, that means you have cast His promises aside; so where is your security in the Lord? The reason you don’t have any is because you won’t use it.

When you don’t feel secure in the Lord, you will worry all the time; but the Bible says, Be careful [anxious] for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6). Yet some of you are anxious and worried about everything. You may say you aren’t doubting, but you aren’t believing either.

When you have doubt, you will not have joy; and without joy, you will have no strength. The joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). When you truly believe and trust God, you will be happy waiting on Him because you will know that everything is going to be all right.

Divine, full assurance comes through being consecrated and dedicated to God His way, not yours. Many people say they are dedicated to God, but it is all done through self; and that is why they never go beyond the flesh. They are depressed instead of being up on the mountaintop, so they never grow in the Lord or receive much from Him.

It is time to get on yielding ground and yield to the whole will of God. Then you won’t be hindered by doubt, fear, frustration or despair‐all those feelings come from the devil. God can only work with divine things that are eternally good, great and strong. If you don’t have those things in your heart, it is time to wake up and realize you have not been on the right waiting ground.

The Bride will be on waiting ground all the time and say as the Psalmist did, Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day (Psalm 25:5). She will be in step with Him every day, and Heaven’s victories will be hers.

You Must Forgive

Many people claim to be waiting on the Lord when they have a spirit of rebellion, but God can’t show it to them because they don’t want to see it. The Bible says seven times, He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). But they don’t hear the Spirit saying, “You are stubborn and impatient.”

Others refuse to forgive when the Bible says, For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (Matthew 6:14,15). You must have a divine spirit of forgiveness. You can’t forgive people of their sins, but you can forgive them for what they have done to you.

Now, this is a very important point for you to understand: The amount of forgiveness you receive is completely dependent on how much you are willing to forgive others. If you refuse to forgive others, God will not forgive you. When you insist on holding something against somebody, you are just destroying yourself; and you cannot be on waiting ground with that spirit.

When you have Christ’s forgiving spirit, you won’t hold grudges; and when you truly forgive someone, you will never talk about what they did or bring it up again. If you do, that means you have not really forgiven the person God’s way because His ways do not include condemnation or criticism. Jesus said, Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven (Luke 6:37).

You can’t freely spit out your opinions saying things like, “I don’t think God should bless that person. I don’t think those people are right.” The Bible says we are not to judge others. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth (Romans 14:4).

Thus saith the Lord, when you judge others, you are not on yielded, consecrated, dedicated ground; and you are being deceived by the devil. Then you will be at the wrong place at the wrong time when the Rapture takes place, and you will be left in the Tribulation Period. Jesus said, Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching (Luke 12:37). You are not watching when you judge, condemn or refuse to forgive others.

Come Out of the Wilderness

You can have nothing in your heart against anybody, or you are not waiting on God’s holy ground where He can come down to you. When Moses was standing before the burning bush, God said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground (Exodus 3:5). When Moses took off his sandals, it signified that his whole life was dedicated to the Lord. He was standing on holy ground with nothing between him and God.

If there is something between you and the Lord today, you are not on yielded, pleasing, faith, love ground. You are not on Heaven’s ground of power and Calvary’s compassion, so stop saying you are waiting on God when you are in no shape to do that because it hurts people’s faith in the Lord‐both those who don’t know Him and those who do. It doesn’t bless anyone to see you in that awful condition saying, “I have been waiting on the Lord for years with no results.” You have deceived yourself because you have not been waiting God’s way. You have been wandering in the wilderness, so God has not been there for you.

Jesus came to bring you out of the wilderness; but if you don’t march out with Him, He will not wait for you. You will be left in that wilderness of doubt, fear, despair, oppression and depression; and you will never be able to get out of there on your own. The only way to come out the right way is leaning on the Lord, and the Bride will be leaning on Him for the rest of the journey. Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved (Song of Solomon 8:5)?

God offered the Israelites His arm to bring them out of the wilderness, but they would not yield; so they waited in their own arrogance, fear and frustration for forty years. If they had been in the right place and going the right way, they would have been in Canaan in a matter of a few days; and their journey would have been over.

Never Lose Control

You must wait on the Lord in self-control, or you will not give your human spirit over to the divine Spirit of the Lord. You may think human control is enough, but it isn’t. That is why temperance is one of the fruits of the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is…temperance: against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22,23). The Holy Ghost is the one who produces that fruit in your life.

After man sinned, his spirit became so out of control that Jesus had to come to bring divine control for the human spirit. Man had sold out to the devil and was running from God, but Jesus made it possible for man to get back to his God. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17).

Anyone who wants God can find Him, but some of you hang around on the wrong ground; and the devil uses people to hinder you. They may say things that sound good such as, “You are such a wonderful, devout person.” But the Lord doesn’t think you are wonderful when you are waiting in the wrong place. You are full of doubt, fear and desperation; and you are not a testimony for Him.

You Need the Holy Ghost

The Bible says we are to be Jesus witnesses through the power of the Holy Ghost. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).

You must receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost just like Jesus commanded the disciples to do. He said, Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49). And, [Jesus] being assembled together with them [the disciples], commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:4,5).

Jesus didn’t tell the disciples to go to Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee or anywhere else. He told them to go to Jerusalem and to the Upper Room‐that would be their waiting ground. They were not to preach, start His cahurch or go forth to win souls until they had received the Holy Ghost.

So they went to the Upper Room, and they waited. Some people declare they waited seven days, and others say they waited ten days; but the important thing is that they waited until the Holy Ghost came. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:1-4).

Let Nothing Stop You

After the great Day of Pentecost, the Early Church disciples waited on the Lord for everything‐all the wisdom, knowledge, direction, power and deliverance they needed. You must do the same thing in this final hour because Rapture ground is pleasing, obedient ground; and obedience is the secret to receiving from the Lord. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield (Psalm 33:20). God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). God said He would be a present help, so you do not always have to wait and wait.

You may declare you are waiting on the Lord, but the real truth may be that He is waiting on you. The Lord wants you to know today that He has waited on you many more times and far longer than you have ever waited on Him. He wants to be your love shield and your protector; so you will never have to worry about today, tomorrow or eternity.

If you are on God’s pleasing ground, you have everything you need‐eternal love, grace, peace and full assurance. You are blood-washed, blood-bought and on your way to Glory. You are watching for Jesus to come, and you have the power of the Holy Ghost moving up and down in your soul; so no man or devil can stop you.

When you are waiting on God the right way, the devil will have to get out of the way or get run over. The Bible says, Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). As you yield to the Lord and use your faith, He will give you the power you need to make the devil run away.

The Psalmist said, My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him (Psalm 62:5). You have to wait on God expecting, not doubting. Through divine faith, you can expect Heaven to be yours even before you get there.

You must dwell on the fact that you are Heaven-rich. You are going to a home in the sky that money can’t buy, so why are you discouraged about not having the kind of home or material things you want down here? There are many people who have everything they want on this Earth, but they don’t have a home in Heaven to go to. When you look at things God’s way, you will know you have it made. Life in Jesus Christ is the only kind of life that really counts.

Never Draw Back

They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint [draw back] (Isaiah 40:31). God will renew and multiply the strength He has already given you, and He will enable you to fly above the storms of life like an eagle. He will give you the strength to walk with Him without getting tired and to work for Him without fainting.

A person who faints cannot function; and if you faint spiritually, you are useless to God. Jesus said, Men ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1). Paul wrote, Let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Galatians 6:9). He also wrote, Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) (Hebrews 10:23). What is the profession of our faith?‐the Word of God. He is a faithful Father, so you must hold on to all of His promises and hug them to your heart.

You must wait on God in complete trust with not one speck of doubt. When God tells you He will do something, He will do it when the time is right. He will also fulfill the promises He has made at the proper time, but you have to trust and believe that He will.

The Bible says, Come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). When you are careful in your times of waiting, the Lord’s throne door will be opened wide to you. Then you can step right in and go boldly before the throne of grace, and the Lord promised you would find help there.

Paul knew that; and that is why he could say, My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Don’t focus on what you don’t have; rejoice in what you do have, and then quietly wait on God for anything else He wants you to have. God has a perfect plan for each person’s life, so stop worrying about your needs; and focus on what God needs from you. You must want to do everything He wants and asks of you.

Wait in the Word

You must wait on God in His eternal Word and promises. Many times, people have been guilty of waiting in man’s promises instead of God’s promises; and that leads to disappointment because others won’t always fulfill the promises they have made to you.

You must trust only in God and abide in His Word. Jesus said, If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7). When you are in the right place at the right time to receive, you can ask what you will; but how many times have you failed to ask in the same spirit Jesus did when He said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42)?

When you live outside the Word, you are on your own; and you have only human help, human strength, human love and human faith. Outside of the Word, you have only human vision, human hearing and a human tongue that is out of control with no love bridle on it. The Bible says, If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain [worthless] (James 1:26).

Outside of the Word, you don’t have the faith of God, the serving hand of the Lord or the promises of God. That is why it is so important to wait on God in the Word. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope (Psalm 130:5).

You can’t wait on the Lord in hopelessness; that is not God’s pleasing ground. The righteous will be full of divine hope, and God promised that His ears are open to their cries. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry (Psalm 34:15). You have to know that you are righteous before God, and you must live in the righteousness of His holy blood and His Holy Word. Then God will hear and answer your prayers. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16).

You have no real hope if it is not based on the Word. All you have is human hope, and you can’t depend on that because you will be disappointed again and again. Many people today are without hope and in a dying condition, and many others have committed suicide; but in the Word, you have all the divine hope you need. Heaven’s hope brings Heaven’s trust and Heaven’s faith, and then you will have Heaven’s supply.

Let the Spirit Guide You

In total obedience is the only way you can wait on God. Many so-called Christians say they are waiting on God, but they are not totally dedicated and yielded to Him; and they are not obedient in everything He asks them to do. Is there anything God has asked you to do that you haven’t done? How many times have you come up lacking because of failing to obey?

When the rich, young ruler went to Jesus, he didn’t think he lacked anything; but Jesus said, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And when he [the rich, young ruler] heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich (Luke 18:22,23). If there is anything lacking when you go to the Lord for something, He will let you know; but if you are on God’s pleasing ground and really walking with Him, He will meet you there.

You must then have the Holy Spirit to comfort you, teach you, reveal God’s will to you and show you the truth. Jesus said, And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth [the Holy Spirit]; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:16,17). Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth (John 16:13).

When you have the Spirit of truth, He will direct you into all truth. Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). When you receive the Holy Ghost, you are baptized in the truth of His love, power and greatness, in the truth of His wisdom, knowledge and direction. Through those things, He makes plain paths for your feet. Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path (Psalm 27:11).

Yield Completely to God

Through the Word of God, He will satisfy your longing soul. For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness (Psalm 107:9). When you long for God’s love and grace, He is ready to serve you. When you long for His will for your life, you can have it as long as you are ready to push all else aside‐family, friends and your own desires. Then wait on God in total obedience, meekness and grace.

You must be completely yielded to God in prayer, fasting and living in the Word. Then the Lord can direct you in exactly how and where to wait on Him. He will tell you the ground He will meet you on, and He will give you the qualifications you have to meet to get there. He will tell you exactly what to do, so you should have no doubt about God’s directions; and you must never allow any human or demon to rob you of the direction of the Lord.

The Bible plainly says that we cannot direct our own steps. The way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps (Jeremiah 10:23). Your steps will be directed either by a higher power or a lower power, so which is it for you today? When you are directed by a higher power, you are walking the high road of love and grace; and you are reaping the benefits of God every day. You have divine, blessed hope, and you are looking forward to the glorious morning.

Going God’s way means His promises are being fulfilled in your life daily. When He makes you a promise, you must hold to it and stay on waiting ground so that promise can be fulfilled. God gave His promises to each one of us, and He will never go back on even one of them.

Jesus Will Return

The Church of Jesus Christ has been waiting a long time for the second coming of the Lord; is your expectation still in the promise that Jesus gave saying, I will come again, and receive you unto myself (John 14:3)? Or has the wait been too long for you? Perhaps you have joined others in saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation (II Peter 3:4).

You cannot afford to be indifferent or deceived in this last hour. The Lord said we would know the season of His return, and this is the season. Jesus said, Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it [my coming] is near, even at the doors (Matthew 24:32,33).

Paul told us some of the signs of the times we would see in one of his letters to Timothy. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof (II Timothy 3:1-5). You can see people filled with those kinds of spirits all around you now.

Pay attention to the signs of the times and never lose faith in the promise of Jesus’ return…and never turn away. Jesus said, But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers (Luke 12:45,46).

You must be very careful in this last hour of waiting. Live in the truth and be continually preparing for Jesus’ return or you will miss it. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh (James 5:8). We have just a limited amount of time left, and the Holy Spirit is urging us to hurry and get God’s work done! For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry (Hebrews 10:37).

Wait on God His way, do His will and never give up. Then one glad day, you will be safe in Heaven forevermore. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (I Corinthians 2:9).

Go God’s Way

Oh, Sinner, you need a God like I have taught you about today. You need this God of love, and you need His wonderful Son to be your Savior, Lord and Master. Decide that you will go God’s way so you can be in the right place at the right time when Jesus comes.

Lift up your voice and cry out to God right now. Oh, God, save my soul. Forgive me of my sins so I can really wait upon you and have all your promises fulfilled. Bless me now, oh, Lord. You said if I would confess my sins, you would forgive me. I am on confessing ground, so I know I am on forgiving ground. I know you will forgive me right now, and I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come in, Jesus! Come on in!

If you meant that prayer, you can say, Hallelujah! Jesus has come. Hallelujah! He is mine.

Get on Healing Ground

Now, you can have a miracle. The Lord promised in His Word, These signs shall follow them that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18).

When you are truly waiting God’s way for the supernatural, miracle-working, healing power of Jesus of Nazareth to move for you, you will not be disappointed; and you will not be struggling in doubt, darkness and fear. You can have your miracle or healing, so get ready for what you need right now. It is already promised to you.

Lord, I bring the people into your presence before the throne of grace. Boldly, I come as the servant of the living God, knowing your supernatural gifts are in my life and that your power is being poured out through this vessel of clay. Heal! in the name of Jesus. Heal! Give the blind their sight and give the deaf and mute hearing and speech. Give the crippled the power to walk. Heal the people of cancer, diabetes, lung trouble and heart disease. Heal the little children and deliver them from every affliction. Heal! in the all-powerful, blood name of Jesus. Heal! I pray, and make them all well today.

The healing power of the Lord is flowing to you now. Accept all He is offering you. He wants to make you whole, but you must serve Him and give Him all the glory for your miracle. When Jesus was here, He said, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee (John 5:14).
