Grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you (Ephesians 4:30–32).

When you grieve the Holy Spirit, it limits what He can do for you. You can also grieve Him so many times that He will leave you altogether.

The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity of the Godhead, and you cannot even go to Calvary without the Holy Spirit drawing you there. Once you are saved, the Holy Spirit seals your soul with the blood of Jesus; but He will not dwell within you until you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. That is why you must go on to receive that baptism just as the Early Church disciples did. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4).

Only when the Spirit is living within you can He lead you and guide you in the ways of the Lord. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoeve I have said unto you (John 14:26).

It was so necessary for us to receive the Holy Spirit that Jesus had to go away so the Spirit could come. Jesus explained, Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you (John 16:7).

What Grieves the Holy Spirit?

Once you have the Holy Spirit living inside, you must be careful not to grieve Him by making Him sad or distressed. One thing that grieves Him is careless speech and gossip. Do you say things about people that you wouldn’t want said about you? How many things have you told that were not edifying and didn’t bless others? How many times have you listened to or spread gossip?

You can also grieve the Holy Spirit by having malice in your heart. How many times have you doubted God? Whenever you have anything in your heart against people and you don’t forgive them, you grieve the Holy Spirit; and when you do that, you harm or even destroy His work. How much of the Holy Spirit’s work have you destroyed with your actions or your tongue?

The works of the flesh listed in Galatians 5:19–21 definitely grieve the Spirit. Carefully study those works to see if you are indulging in any of them. If you are, you are insulting the Holy Spirit every time you take part in one.

Many people are so deceived about themselves that they can commit open sin and still think they are saved. Others just keep grieving the Holy Spirit again and again until He can no longer do any work in their lives, so He leaves.

You Must Believe

Grieving the Holy Spirit began in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve failed to believe what God had told them. Many people today are grieving the Holy Spirit as well because of their doubt and unbelief; and soon, the Holy Spirit will no longer deal with them. The gift of miracles is being poured out in this last hour like never before, and people will have a chance to see the miracles of God. If they refuse to accept them, they will be on the road to destruction.

This is a separating time, and God is separating His true children from the world. They must be without spot or wrinkle, and they must not grieve the Holy Spirit. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).

Adam and Eve grieved the Holy Spirit so greatly through unbelief and disobedience that He drove them out of the Garden of Eden, and they lost everything. God told them the truth, but the devil denied that truth and told them a half-truth; and they believed him. Jesus said, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). If you don’t accept the whole Bible today, you are grieving the Holy Spirit.

You have a right to believe anything you want to; but if you want to go to God’s Heaven and make the Rapture, your beliefs will have to be in harmony with the truth. You will have to walk hand in hand with God or you won’t be walking with Him at all.

Some of you keep God at a distance. Oh, you make sure He is in sight, but that is not good enough in this final hour. God’s Spirit will lift from you when you won’t accept the whole truth. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness (II Thessalonians 2:11,12).

An Evil Hour

In Noah’s day, many people grieved the Holy Spirit. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart (Genesis 6:5,6). Everything those people thought about was evil, so the Lord destroyed them all except for eight souls—Noah and his family. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark (Genesis 7:23).

The devil will bring evil things to your mind, but you don’t have to accept them or act them out. One day soon, the devil will never be able to aggravate you again; but until then, he tempts all of us. Thankfully, you can make him flee through the blood of Jesus. If you don’t do that, you will eventually embrace his evil thoughts and grieve the Holy Spirit.

We live in a degraded hour, and people are committing all kinds of terrible sins; yet many of them still think they are going to Heaven when they are headed straight to hell. They will not make the Rapture, and they will be left to face the Tribulation Period.

Never Look Back

The Bible tells us that angels led Lot, his wife and his two daughters out of Sodom before it was to be destroyed. And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he [an angel] said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. But his [Lot’s] wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:17,26). Lot’s wife grieved the Holy Spirit for the last time, and the Lord destroyed her.

The Old Testament’s types and shadows are of living realities to come. The two angels who helped Lot and his family get out of the city represent the Word and the Holy Ghost; and today, they are here to make sure we get out of this world and make it to Heaven. They are pulling on us, and Jesus said we must not look back. No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62).

Nevertheless, some of you are looking back. You won’t turn away from the world, and you do things you know are wrong. You are playing with fire, and you will get burned. The devil is doing everything he can in this last hour to get you to grieve the Holy Spirit so you will be left behind when Jesus comes.

Lying Grieves the Spirit

Have you really left the world behind, or are you just making people believe you have? You may claim to be saved and Spirit-filled; but are you still acting like the world in the ways you transact business, live your daily life or behave when you think no one is looking? God and the Holy Spirit always see you, and the Spirit can take His flight without you even knowing it.

If you lie, the Holy Spirit definitely won’t stay with you. Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, told one lie each in Acts 5:1-10, and it cost them their lives. They didn’t have to sell their land, and the Lord did not require them to. However at that time, the disciples were in such one-mindedness, and there was so much love among them that they began of their own accord to sell their goods and give the money to the apostles to distribute to those in need. The problem was that Ananias and Sapphira had lied about the price they had received for their land, and their punishment was death.

If you willfully tell something you know is a lie, you have grieved the Holy Spirit; and He has left you. You may not think so, and you may think God has let you get by with it because He didn’t strike you down on the spot; but the Bible says, All liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death (Revelation 21:8). You can’t have lying and deceit in your heart and walk with God because there is no deceit in God.

You Must Live Holy

The Holy Spirit has lived on this Earth for about 2000 years, but He hasn’t been able to do much work during most of those years because so few people have yielded to Him. Today, we are living in the great outpouring of the Spirit. And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh (Acts 2:17). Those who don’t yield will be left out of this miraculous move of the Spirit.

The Bible says that the true Bride of Christ must be spotless, but so many people think it is impossible to live that way; and it is if you have any deceit in you. However, if you are totally possessed by the Holy Spirit, you can and will live holy. The Bible says, Be ye holy; for I [God] am holy (I Peter 1:16). The Holy Spirit is rising up against all unholiness in this final hour just like God said He would.

Do you grumble against God and criticize His work? When Jesus was on Earth, people said He had a devil in Him. Many of them said, He [Jesus] hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him? Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind (John 10:20,21)? Others saw the truth in Jesus, and you must too.

Some people may be afraid to blame God for their failures; so they blame friends, family or even a preacher. Israel failed miserably again and again, and they blamed not only God but also Moses and anyone else they could except themselves. The Israelites continually murmured and grumbled until they grumbled all their blessings away.

God Requires Tithes and Offerings

You can grieve the Holy Spirit by not tithing and giving to the Lord because the Bible says, The tenth shall be holy unto the LORD (Leviticus 27:32). Many people say that tithing was only required under the Old Testament Law, but Abraham paid tithes over 700 years before the Law was given. God had already given people His financial plan at that time, and He then included that plan when He gave the Law; and it is the same plan we have today.

God requires that a dime out of each dollar you make or receive belongs to Him. Are you God’s financial partner, or are you grieving the Holy Spirit? The Bible says, Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:8).

The Lord has let me know that people who don’t tithe and give to the Lord will miss many blessings, including miracles and healings. Now, this doesn’t mean you are robbing God if you are sick, but you must make sure you’re not guilty of that when you are seeking your miracle.

The Lord told the Israelites, Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation (Malachi 3:9). Then God held back the rain, and there was a famine in the land. God knew the hearts of the people; and He said, Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes (Haggai 1:6). The Lord took much more than ten percent from those people because they disobeyed Him and grieved the Holy Spirit.

God Hates Hypocrites

The Early Church disciples were consecrated and dedicated to God until they began to compromise with the world. Some of you listen to ministers who are not preaching the truth, and you might as well be listening to the devil because those minsters are preaching false doctrine. You may claim they are saying some good things; but if someone were to give you a pie and tell you there was poison in part of it, would you eat it anyway? Of course not, so why do you listen to ministers who preach only half the truth?

The devil will make everything God has forbidden look beautiful; and even though you may profess to be a Christian and you know better, you will reach out for those things. Then you are not just a sinner but a hypocrite, and the Holy Spirit takes His flight. The Bible says, For what is the hope of the hypocrite...when God taketh away his soul (Job 27:8)? God loves the sinner, but He despises the hypocrite.

Some of you once had the gift of salvation in your life and the baptism of the Holy Ghost. You had grown so close to God that the third person in the Trinity of the Godhead had moved in to work within you and be your Comforter. He had brought you peace when no human could and taught you all the truths of God. He had brought you miracles through the power of God.

The Holy Spirit is a humble servant of the Lord who was sent to be your helper, your guide, your teacher and so much more; yet you ended up insulting Him, disgracing Him and humiliating Him. You made Him cry and put Him in such great distress that He left you. Now, you’re on your own.

King Saul was so arrogant and disobedient to God that devils took him over. He grieved the Spirit for the final time, and God rejected him. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king (I Samuel 15:23). Saul had become a coward and a hypocrite, and God despised those things. Sadly, Saul later committed suicide.

Do you seek the will of God every day? Do you want to walk right before Him and do His holy will, or are you like Saul—rebelling against God, disobeying His commands and doing what you want to do?

Do Not Fail

King Saul should have been the one to kill the Philistine giant, Goliath; but he had failed so miserably that instead, God used a boy of about thirteen years of age named David to do the job. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him (I Samuel 17:50). That was an amazing act of faith.

David really loved and served the Lord, and God later made him to be king in Saul’s place; but during his reign, David failed God and slept with another man’s wife. Has God used you to conquer for Him and been so proud of you only to have you grieve the Holy Ghost and fall by the wayside?

David had plenty of wives, but the devil made him desire another man’s wife; and then he committed murder trying to cover up his sin. The Holy Spirit was so grieved with David that He lifted from him. David suffered much for that sin, but he did sorrowfully repent before the Lord to get the Spirit back in his life; and you can read about it in Psalm 51. God didn’t answer David’s cries at first, but David didn’t give up; and the Lord forgave him.

There are people who are obeying God in everything, and you must be one of them. When you get out of bed each morning, you must yield to the Holy Spirit and say as David did, I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1,2). You must want nothing but the perfect will of God every day, and you must live holy whether anyone else around you does or not. Then the Holy Spirit will flood your soul with peace and love.

God is walking the Earth in this final hour with mercy and victory for each child of God. He is offering us the whole armor of God and a shield that not one fiery dart of the devil can penetrate, but what are you doing with those things? Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:10,11,14-17).

Don’t Play with Fire

Samson thought he could play around with the devil and be alright, but the devil got him; and he paid dearly for that. Some of you think you can play around with the things and people of the world, say a little prayer, and you will be alright. Yes, God is a forgiving God but only if you are sincere. The more Samson played around and listened to Delilah, the weaker he became until it was too late; and one day, it will be too late for you.

Samson didn’t intend to tell the secret source of his power to Delilah and lose his consecration, but it is hard to play with fire and not get burned. Samson fell into Delilah’s evil trap so much so that after telling Delilah his heart, he fell asleep. And he awoke out of his sleep...he wist not that the LORD was departed from him. But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house (Judges 16:20,21).

I don’t care how experienced you think you are walking the line in this life; you are no match for Lucifer. If you go to the devil’s gambling table, you will be the loser. Samson realized what he had done, but it was too late. He did finally get back to God, but what a great price he paid.

Can you grieve the Holy Spirit and not feel badly about it? If so, you have no vision of this last hour. There is so much to be done, and you must hear the cries from people all over the world who need help.

The Lord gave me a vision; and in it, I was going through the nations shouting with great joy and urgency to people all over the world, “Come to Jesus! Come to Jesus!” I started to shout it one more time, and my cry died in my throat. I had no more words of the Gospel for them, and I bowed my head in sorrow. Suddenly, the river of joy that was flowing out from me dried up.

Then God began to say, “I don’t want you. I never will want you. I sent my only Son to die for you. I called you again and again through His blood, but you didn’t want me; and now, I don’t want you. I never will hear another one of your prayers for eternity.” I never thought I would hear God talk like that; and oh, how I cried.

Accept Jesus for Yours

If you are one who has grieved the Holy Spirit over and over again, you will have to stop; or there will be no Heaven for you. If you want to go when Jesus comes, your life will have to measure up to the Word of God.

If you don’t have Jesus, pray with me right now: Oh, God, I have sinned against you, and I am so sorry. Please forgive me, and I will serve you, Lord, for the rest of my life. I believe your Word, and I love the blood of Jesus; and I believe that blood washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in!

If you meant that prayer, you can say, “Hallelujah! Jesus is mine!” Now, start reading your Bible; spend time with the Lord and go on to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit. You must have Him to be caught away when Jesus comes.

Receive a Miracle

If you are sick and afflicted today, you must know it is the Lord’s will for you to be healed. Jesus came for the healing of our bodies as well as the healing of our souls; and the Bible says, With his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). I am not your healer; God is, but Jesus said, If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven (Matthew 18:19). I am one, and you are two.

It is the faith of God that does the job, and faith is a gift from God to everyone. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). If you say you have no faith, then you are grieving the Spirit; and you won’t be able to use your faith. I am God’s believer, and I believe in the power of prayer. Let’s believe for your healing or the healing of your loved one right now.

Lord, I bring the people to you. In the holy name of Jesus, I come with your gifts of healing and your gift of miracles for their deliverance. I curse the sicknesses and diseases in their bodies in the name of the Lord. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, heal! Heal, in the holy, mighty name of Jesus!

The healing power is flowing. If you will be obedient and believe the Lord, that power will linger in your body to get you and your loved ones well. Watch for all signs of improvement daily and praise the Lord for each one. This message must be preached throughout the whole Earth, and then the end will come.

Thus Saith the Lord

Thus saith the Lord, you asked for my joy; you should have known you would have great sorrow. You asked for my peace; you should have known you would meet much unrest. You asked for my love; you should have known there would be much hate. You asked for my longsuffering; you should have known your valleys would be deep. You asked for my sunshine; you should have known the cloudy days would come.

You asked for my strength; you should have known there would be many lions to defeat. You asked for my overcoming power; you should have known the fiery furnace of afflictions would be hot. You asked to walk with me; you should have known you would have to be completely separated from the entire world. You asked for my holiness; you should have known there could be no unrighteousness within.

You asked for laughter, and I gave it; you should have known it would be your strength to climb all the mountains and your help in the valleys. You asked for my revelations, but you should have known they would take much fasting and living in my presence. You have asked for the deliverance of all mankind; you must know there is a great price for my people to pay for souls to come into the Kingdom.

I walk with my people, but some of you will not let me be nigh unto you at all times. Some of you forget me. You forget my love and my help, and you turn aside. I cannot excuse you. I speak with love and kindness today, but my Spirit will lift if you don’t walk in the way of the Lord thy God. My Spirit will not strive with you.

I have given you my light, so there will never be any night for you; but you have dimmed that light by grieving my Spirit. If you do not know your way, it is because you have dimmed my light. I made your path a plain path, but you dimmed the light. That is the reason you cannot find a place for your feet, and fear has come upon you.

I did not give you that fear; it came through your disobedience. My love will deliver you from the fear that possesses you, and my anointing will lift you up and stand you on your feet. My anointing and my love will clothe you with my honor, and I will walk with you all the way. You will be victorious night and day, and no power will be able to defeat you, saith the Lord.
