A Holy Ghost Time
by Ernest Angley
September 2014
Lord, help the people to open their hearts to this message that came straight from you, and I will teach it as you want it taught. In the name of the Father, the Son and the good Holy Ghost I pray. Amen.
This is a Holy Ghost hour, so we must know who the Holy Ghost is. The Apostle Paul said, That I may know him [Jesus], and the power of his resurrection (Philippians 3:10); and now, we must know the Holy Ghost.
Jesus told us that the Holy Ghost would bring power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). We are to be witnesses for the Lord and to take His place here on Earth. He wants to use our tongues just as the Father and the Holy Ghost used Jesus’ tongue when He was here. We have to be just like Jesus, and then we will have no trouble leaving here when He returns. The Holy Ghost is the one who brings reality to the coming of the Lord.
Receive the Holy Ghost
Before you can receive anything from the Holy Ghost, you must first receive Him; and He is promised to all who are saved. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:38,39).
You have to claim the promise of the Holy Spirit, but you first have to feel the need of the Spirit and seek the patience to wait and tarry for Him. You have to want the faith and the obedience He will bring to your life. If a person truly gets saved, he will seek for the baptism of the Holy Ghost every chance he gets. Jesus said, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). If you really hunger and thirst for the Holy Ghost, He will fill you up; and if you do not receive, you need to start over and say, “Lord, save me.”
When you are truly saved, the Holy Spirit will lead you on to receive His baptism just as He did the Early Church disciples. When Jesus was here, He commanded the disciples to go back to Jerusalem and tarry there until they were filled with the Holy Ghost. Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49). And, being assembled together with them, [Jesus] commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me (Acts 1:4).
Jesus told the Early Church disciples that they were not to start the Church until they had received the Holy Ghost. They needed Him then, and we need to have Him now.
Be Filled with the Spirit
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:1–4). Now, the fire and the wind were not the Holy Ghost; they were just signs of the Holy Ghost. The speaking in tongues was the evidence that the disciples were really baptized.
That scripture also says the disciples were filled with the Holy Ghost. When you are filled with something, you have no room for anything else. If a glass is filled with water, there is no room for anything else in that glass; and in the same way, when you receive the Holy Ghost, there is no room in your life for anything but holiness and righteousness.
When Jesus was on Earth as a man, even He had to have the Holy Ghost before He could start His earthly ministry. No one should be preaching today without the Holy Ghost. The Early Church stayed on fire with the Holy Ghost for over thirty years, and that same fire belongs to us today. We must use it just like Jesus used it.
It is not enough just to receive the Holy Ghost; you must give yourself completely to Him. If you fail to do that, He cannot use you. Some of you think you have a right to think whatever you want to, but that is not really so. The Bible tells us what we should think upon. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8).
You are not your own; you have been bought with a price. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (I Corinthians 6:19,20). I always consider myself to be the Lord’s servant.
Paul knew the importance of receiving the Holy Ghost; and he showed it when he asked a group of the disciples in Ephesus, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. Paul went on to explain true salvation to them. And when they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied (Acts 19:2,5,6).
Who Is the Holy Ghost?
It is time to tell the world who the Holy Ghost is, why He came from Heaven and why it is so important for us to receive Him. The Father Himself said He is as important as Jesus was when He was here preaching and teaching. Jesus said of the Holy Ghost, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26).
Jesus had to teach the apostles about the Holy Ghost because without Him, they had failed. They had all fallen asleep in the Garden of Gethsemane when Jesus had needed them so much, and John was the only apostle at the foot of the Cross when Jesus was crucified. The rest of them had stood afar off, and Peter even backslid to the bottom when he denied knowing Jesus three times. After Jesus had been resurrected, Thomas was so full of doubt that he would not believe it.
Some people do not realize that the Holy Ghost is a real person, but He is. In John 14 and 16, Jesus referred to the Holy Ghost sixteen times using a personal pronoun because He is the third person in the Trinity of the Godhead. He has eyes, ears, hands and feet just like we have; but when He is living on the inside of you, He depends on using your hands and your feet, and you tie God’s hands when you don’t let Him do that.
The Holy Spirit reveals the will of God for each life, and that means none are left out. At times, He will reveal God’s will to us through fleeces; but if you put out a fleece before the Lord, you must stand by it or God will never answer another fleece for you. You can put out your fleece in two different ways like Gideon did in Judges 6, or you can just put out something simple. When I put out a fleece before God, I do it with all of my heart knowing that God will answer; and then I go by that answer. For over seventy years, I have never gone back on a fleece; but some of you do because you do not like the answer you receive.
Pray in God’s Will
The Holy Ghost teaches you how to pray, and He helps you to get your prayers through. He anoints you to talk to the Father, to listen to Him and to reason with Him. He will even pray through you, but you have to let Him say what He wants to say and not what you want to say. He will teach you to pray in God’s will only, but you have to really mean it and want the will of God in everything. The whole you has to be in each prayer to get Heaven’s answer, saith the Lord.
We may not know what we need, but the Holy Spirit knows; and He makes intercession for us. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26). These are the groanings of the Holy Spirit. We cannot utter them because they are so far beyond us, so deep and so profound; and they come from deep within our innermost being. They are not part of the human nature; they are the nature of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.
Nobody can understand the Spirit’s groanings, but they bring the answers you need because the Spirit only makes intercession for you according to the will of God. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God (Romans 8:27).
Jesus also makes intersession for us. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us ( Romans 8:34). Two members of the Godhead make intercession for us, so we can get our prayers answered; but again I say, you have to pray according to the will of God.
When you always want the will of God, then all things will work for good. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). The Lord has a purpose in each person’s calling, and He has called us unto Himself because He has a plan for each life.
Follow the Guide
How do you use your tongue? Does the Holy Ghost use it, or do you use it? If you have a holy tongue, you are holy; but if you don’t have a holy tongue, you are unholy, and you will not go to Heaven. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).
When you are just like Jesus, you will not pass on gossip, tell questionable stories or laugh at anything that is not clean and pure. Gossip is the devil’s talk; so if you listen to it or spread it, you will not go to Heaven, and you certainly will not make the Rapture.
We are to sell all and buy the Pearl of Great Price. The kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it (Matthew 13:45,46). Have you given everything to the Lord, or do you have something between you and God that you are holding on to? Is it money? Is it a person? Whatever it is, God knows about it; but the Holy Ghost can help you to give it up.
The Spirit teaches us to learn all about Jesus just as Jesus said we should. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Matthew 11:29). The Spirit seeks to make Jesus real to people, and I seek to know everything I can about Him; but there is so much to learn about Jesus that we will be in Heaven for trillions of years and still never know all about Him. Children of God must walk like Jesus, talk like Jesus and think like Jesus.
The Holy Ghost is our helper, and He can help you through anything. He guides you daily, but He can only do for you what you will let Him do. For a guide to be any good to you, you have to accept what that guide tells you and follow that guide. The Holy Ghost will only guide you into truth because He is the Spirit of truth. Jesus said, Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13).
When you have the Holy Ghost, you have all truth; so you should never have any doubt in you because there is no room for any error in the Spirit. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error (I John 4:6). You cannot mix the truth with anything or go by your opinions. You have to die to your opinions through the blood of Jesus.
The Spirit Never Leaves
The Holy Spirit never leaves us; He has come to live in us and stay with us until we go to Heaven because we need Him. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:16,17).
Jesus said the Holy Spirit would be our comforter, but do you let Him comfort you? Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you (John 16:7). The Spirit is everything to me, and I have given my life so completely to Him. What would I have done without the Comforter when the Lord suddenly took my wife, Angel, to Heaven? I did not know how I would go on without her, but the Holy Ghost gave me great comfort. The Lord would speak to me again and again and say, “I am the Lord that walketh with thee.” The Lord comforted me when nobody else could.
The Holy Spirit has come to do so many things for us. He gives us power to use the divine blood and all the grace we need. My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (II Corinthians 12:9). He is the knowledge of God’s wisdom, the grace of God’s thoughts and our divine intelligence.
The Holy Spirit teaches us to live as holy as God lives. The Bible says, Be ye holy; for I am holy (I Peter 1:16). He teaches us to use love in perfection; and in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48).
The Holy Spirit teaches us what and whom to separate from. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17). We must be a called–out people from a called–out people, and we may even have to separate from members of our own families. Jesus said, Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law (Matthew 10:34,35). Nevertheless, some of you put your family ahead of God. You may not like to hear that, but I give people the truth.
The Fruit of the Spirit
What a Holy Ghost time it is as He shows us the nine divine fruits of the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22,23). These are the same eternal fruits we will have in Heaven; and the Lord told me that they are greater than all of nature’s fruit that was in Eden. The Holy Ghost serves us these divine fruits, but they are not produced in Heaven; they are produced inside of us. Through the blood, we have to furnish holy soil in our souls.
The Spirit serves us love, and then He serves it through us to others. It is love like the world has never seen before, and we must let people see that love. You must always speak with the first love you received at Calvary, but you will not do that by arguing. Thus saith the Lord, if you argue in your marriage or with anyone else, you will have to stop it or you will still be on Earth together to argue after the Rapture takes place. Some people think they can argue, fight and physically abuse people and still be all right; but the Lord is going to drop them into hell if they don’t change, and He will never remember them again.
The Spirit serves joy that the world has never experienced. Peter described it as joy unspeakable and full of glory (I Peter 1:8). If you really have the Holy Ghost, you will have Heaven’s joy. Then you will no longer want to be a part of the world. When I got saved, I left the world behind and gave myself completely to the Lord; and that is why the Lord has given me great happiness and joy for so many years.
The Lord told me it is time to receive the fullness of God and to let Him completely take over your life. You must know that you have been bought with a price. This is not a time for play; it is a time for God. The Bible says, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:16). Are you redeeming your time or do you waste it? I wish I could use all the time that people and even Christians are wasting today.
The Spirit Serves Peace and Longsuffering
The Holy Spirit serves peace beyond all human understanding. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If you have the Holy Ghost but have no peace, it is because you will not let Him serve it to you. We will have to go through much in this final hour, but we must be peacemakers.
The Spirit serves longsuffering, and that is the patience that brings us all things needed and even possesses our souls. In your patience possess ye your souls (Luke 21:19).
The Spirit serves divine gentleness, which is the very touch of God’s hand; and He serves divine goodness, which is the attention from the true and living God that will guide all of our steps. Only the Spirit can produce these fruits in you; you can’t do it yourself. You have to yield completely to Him because He knows how to deal with you.
The Holy Ghost knows you inside and out because He helped make you. In Eden, God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness (Genesis 1:26). God said let “us,” and He let me know that the Holy Ghost was in Eden and helped make the first man. But after Adam and Eve had sinned, it was thousands of years before the Holy Ghost could move in and live with people; and it took a gate in the form of an Old Rugged Cross to make that happen. When Jesus cried, It is finished (John 19:30), the Lord could finally say, Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17).
Live by Faith
The Holy Spirit serves faith, and it bridges every river we need to cross and conquers every mountain we need to climb. And Jesus said unto them…If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20). The Lord told me that we will have angel help, so we will be able to climb above the moon and the stars and right into the heart of God.
Faith heals our bodies of all sicknesses and diseases and delivers us from all sin. The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him (James 5:15).
Faith makes plain paths for our feet and gives us the strength to walk each one. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5,6).
You must live by divine faith daily; but you can’t just decide, “I am going to use more faith.” You have to seek that faith because you cannot use something you don’t have.
The Spirit serves meekness, which is the humility of Jesus; and you have to be as humble and meek as the Holy Spirit Himself. You must forgive people and never hold anything against them again; but many will say, “I can’t forgive.” Then you don’t have the Holy Ghost living in you, saith the Lord.
You cannot carry a grudge and keep your salvation or the Holy Ghost because that spirit is from the devil, and you cannot have both the devil and God in your life. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24). You have free choice, but you have to choose one or the other—God or the devil.
The Spirit serves temperance, and that is self–control. If you cannot control yourself, then you are not saved. You do not have the blood in your soul because the blood will give you control. You are deceived, but some of you will not face that fact no matter how much God tries to deal with you. You think you can say and do whatever you want to, and you can; but you will go to hell and then it will be too late to change.
When you have divine self–control, you will not argue and fight; and you will not yell at, get irritable with or mistreat others because that is not the Holy Spirit’s way. If people cannot get along in your home, let them argue; but never argue with them. You must let the Holy Ghost use your tongue.
Have Faith in the Word
What a Holy Ghost time; and it brings freedom, liberty and all the greatness of God. Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (I John 4:4). It is time for impossibilities to become possibilities for us. With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27).
Children of God must make no room for doubt, and the Bible says it is a sin to doubt God. For whatsoever is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23). You can doubt yourself and the devil, but never doubt God.
The Holy Ghost shows us the Lord’s benefits and helps us never to forget that they come from God. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases (Psalm 103:2,3). When you cannot sleep, you should count your blessings; and then you will wake up with those blessings. If you don’t want to have nightmares, then go to sleep with your mind on the divine blood. In faith, spray the blood all over your room; and then you will not have to worry about the devil because he is afraid of the blood.
It is time to know that God is true and that all who are against His truth are liars. Jesus said the devil is the father of lies. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44).
The Holy Spirit brings us the reality of the Word because He sees it clearly; and as we take Jesus to the world, the Spirit multiplies the Word just like He did in the beginning of the Church. The word of God grew and multiplied (Acts 12:24).
The Early Church disciples spread the Word everywhere, and that is what we have to do. Jesus said, This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come (Matthew 24:14).
Today, this Gospel has to be preached and confirmed with signs and wonders; and God is multiplying the Word with miracles and healings through true, Spirit–filled people who are yielded to the Holy Ghost. He gives us the faith to believe it all, and then the Word can prevail. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed (Acts 19:20). The Word will take authority over all the powers of the devil because Satan cannot stand the Word, and the Word of God will endure forever. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away (Luke 21:33).
Abide in Your Calling
It is a Holy Ghost time, a time not to be ignorant of the nine gifts of the Spirit but to believe them all. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will (I Corinthians 12:8–11).
The Lord has given me His gifts to use for His honor and glory, but I never thought God would count me worthy to receive even one of the gifts much less all of them. Now, all of those gifts are operating through this Jesus world outreach ministry; but I have no life of my own, and I have to spend hours alone with God. If I am around people for a very long time, I feel empty and get hungry for God just like you get hungry for food. I have to stay away from people much of the time, but I don’t mind because the Lord has made me to be so contented with Him.
I have learned how the Holy Spirit uses the miracle power and the gifts in my life. I cannot make them work, but I know how to give over to the Spirit so He can use them through me. He will work through you in many different ways, too, if you will allow Him to.
The Lord needs all kinds of workers now, and He is always looking for two more hands to use. He told me that prayer, fasting and living in the Word are the secrets to victory in Jesus; and the people who have done those three things have found it to be true.
Not everyone can have the gifts of the Spirit, but the Lord does call many people to fulfill different duties for Him. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11,12). God has called many people to these things, but not all of them are doing what they should in all truth; and they are not building up the body of Christ.
The Bible tells us that God has chosen us to work for Him and that every one of us must abide in his or her calling. Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called (I Corinthians 7:20). We each have a special place in the body of Christ, and we must measure up to it. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13). The Lord said His discipline is going to be very strict in this last hour; and when you break God’s unity, you will have His frown.
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ (Ephesians 4:15). Jesus is the head of the Church, so you have to grow up in Him; and you will when you speak the truth in love.
Divine Miracles
The Holy Spirit brings miracles through the divine blood, and we had great miracles and healings in my home. When I was young, I had a leg disease that I am sure was cancer of the bone. I would cry at all hours because of the pain, and I could not stand for anybody to touch that leg; but through it all, my mother stood over me day and night saying, “Honey, God is going to heal you.” She would never leave me crying, and she would stay by me until the pain would ease.
Then one day, the Lord healed me just like Mama had said He would. I knew it would happen because when Mama told me something, I thought it was like the Lord Himself talking; and I never doubted her.
When we were having a mighty crusade in Rwanda, I met one of the country’s governors who had suffered a stroke that had left him paralyzed on his right side and unable to talk plainly. As he stood before me, I prayed for him; and I watched his whole body come to normal. The next night, he brought his wife who also had suffered a stroke; and she was made whole, too. Those miracles made great believers out of them.
In a great vision years ago, God actually walked with me; but I did not know it was God until many years later. As we walked along, I could see people lined up to my left and my right; and I watched all of them receive their miracles and be made whole no matter what condition they were in. We are getting so close now to what God showed me in that great vision, and He let me know it would happen. During our last few mighty crusades, everybody who was in the prayer line received a miracle.
It is time to accept all the wonderful works of the Holy Ghost and let them be real to you. You have to know that He will help you to do all His works just as Jesus did when He was here on Earth, but you have to live just like Jesus did and be a living epistle of Christ. Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart (II Corinthians 3:2,3). Everybody can be just like Jesus.
True Salvation
You can only be saved through the Holy Ghost because no one can be saved without being drawn by Him. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him (John 6:44). Then you must put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24). The Holy Ghost will help you put on Christ and keep Him on, and people who say no one can live free from sin are instruments of the devil. The false teachings of many preachers have destroyed millions of people who are in hell today, so you must be aware that not all so–called holiness is Bible holiness.
Jesus came and brought the new and living way for us. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh (Hebrews 10:19,20). You are either walking in the light or you are walking in the darkness of the night; there is no in between. If a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him (John 11:10).
After Jesus had been crucified, resurrected and had ascended back to Heaven, He carried His divine blood that He had spilled on Calvary down the Avenue of Glory to God’s throne and poured it out on the great altar before His heavenly Father and yours. That blood is now available to everybody.
Down through the years, the Lord has told me three different times that those who are living when Jesus comes must have the Holy Ghost to make the Rapture; so those who reject the Holy Spirit will never make it. If they have not already blasphemed in this hour, they will, saith the Lord. That is why so many churches today are spiritually dead and do not have divine love and compassion for lost souls. There are dead men and women in the pulpits and dead people in the pews who do not have the Jesus vision.
The Lord told me this hour would come when even preachers would blaspheme against the Holy Ghost because they have mocked God’s power and His miracles and declare His healing ministry is fanaticism. Some people say that it is false doctrine to teach that people must have the Holy Ghost to make the Rapture, and others who actually claim to have the Holy Ghost are really just speaking in tongues at will. The Lord told me that speaking in tongues at will is of the flesh; and He said that if people continue to do that, a demon will take over and do the talking.
This is a time in which people are falling away from God; and if you don’t receive the Holy Ghost, you will not make it, saith the Lord. You will never be ready for the one flight out without the Spirit dwelling within.
Divine Protection
The Bible tells us about the armor of God, but how much of it do you use? Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13–17).
Everything you need is there, but notice that there is no protection for the back because you are not to run from the devil. Thus saith the Lord, you must be clothed in this armor in this final hour or you will not make it.
You can stop the fiery darts of the devil with your shield of faith, and every one of his darts will fall at your feet. You have the helmet of salvation which directs your mind and takes care of and feeds your soul, and then the soul responds and feeds the mind. There is no limit to what the soul can hold because it came from God, so it can hold all of Heaven. When you realize this and when your soul has been made holy through the blood, you can fill up to the brim in prayer.
When you wear this armor, nobody can hinder you from doing the will of God. Every one of the devil’s demons and even the devil himself could come against you, but they could never defeat you. The Lord said that He would raise up a standard against the enemy. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). He also said it is not done by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts (Zechariah 4:6).
The Holy Ghost Family
All of Heaven’s power is ours to use, but we have to use it through the Holy Ghost. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons [or daughters] of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). Jesus came to make us sons and daughters, and He showed us the benefits His children can receive through the power of the Holy Ghost. Again, I say that even Jesus had to have the Holy Ghost; and after He had received Him, He said, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised (Luke 4:18).
We are doing those same things today as we live in the family of God. We are not outcasts or stepchildren; we belong to God’s family just as much as Jesus Christ does, and we have all the same benefits that He had when He was here. The Bible says we are joint–heirs with Jesus. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint–heirs with Christ (Romans 8:16,17).
There is a Holy Ghost family, saith the Lord; and when you have the real baptism of the Spirit, you become a member of that family. He is the head of that family, and He directs each member. He stays with them all the time and never leaves them. You become eligible to receive all of Heaven’s benefits, and that is why you have to become so much like Heaven to receive the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost is the greatest family member you could ever have. There is no sin in that family; it is all righteousness and holiness, so you will live in the will of God like the Spirit lives in the will of God. You will know God’s will just like the Spirit knows God’s will, and you will know what God wants you to do just like the Spirit knows what the heavenly Father wants Him to do.
The Holy Ghost will let you know how to please God with music and singing that He can enjoy—psalms, hymns and songs of God that will build you up like nothing else can. Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord (Ephesians 5:19). Do you listen to the world’s music? Before I got saved, I would go to the dance hall where the music of the swing bands was played; and that music gets in your bones. But when I got saved, the Lord took every bit of that out of me; and I wanted to hear nothing but Gospel music. I thought that giving up the world’s music would be the hardest thing for me to do, but I had no trouble leaving it all behind.
Prayer and Fasting
Mark tells of a man who brought his son to Jesus to be healed. He had taken him to the disciples first but did not get any results, so he took him on to Jesus and explained to Him that the devils would take over his son and cast him into the fire. Then the man said, If thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us (Mark 9:22). The Lord threw that “if” right back at him and said, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23). Every word in the English language that ends with “eth” means “to continue,” so you can never stop believing.
Then the man said, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief (Mark 9:24); so Jesus cast the spirit out of the man’s son, and the boy was free. Later, the disciples wanted to know why they could not cast the devils out of the man’s son; and Jesus said, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29).
When Jesus prayed, He knew the Father always heard Him; and when you pray, you should always say as Jesus did, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42). I have said that to the Lord so many times because I never go before Him in doubt.
In Old Testament days, the great prophet Elijah knew God heard him when he prayed a simple prayer; and fire fell from Heaven. That divine fire consumed his sacrifice in front of 450 of the prophets of Baal. And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench (I Kings 18:36–38). Some of you depend on other people to do your praying for you when you should have confidence in your own prayers.
The Holy Ghost led Jesus to fast. And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing (Luke 4:1,2). Jesus came to Earth as very God, and everything He brought from Heaven was divine—divine blood, divine gifts, divine powers and divine salvation. He had to use that divinity when He took on the fashion of a man, and He showed us how to use it, too, because He knew the Holy Ghost was going to take His place and live on the inside of us as a person.
Jesus is our example. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps (I Peter 2:21).
Never Grieve the Spirit
The Holy Ghost must be as real to you as people are, and you have to learn to live with Him. When He moves in, He does not come and go; He is there with you day and night. But you have to act like He is a part of your family if you want Him to stay with you or you will grieve Him right out of your life. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).
How many times will you be able to grieve Him before He will leave you? The Holy Spirit has departed from so many people who had once started off right, but they are not right anymore; and they have left the Holy Ghost family. You and your personality have to become like the Spirit. You have to change or you will be no good to the Kingdom.
You will not understand all of this teaching if you do not look at the Holy Ghost as a real person, one who is holy and has all wisdom and all knowledge and one who knows every detail of the will of God for your life. You may say you want the will of God, yet you will not wait to see what His will is and instead do what you want to do.
The Holy Ghost gives each child of God the world vision for lost humanity, and you are missing souls when you do not yield to the Holy Ghost. You must have a great yearning to see people come to the Lord. Souls must come first above everything else in your life, and God’s “go ye” must burn on the altar of your heart. Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).
It is time to take the vision of the end–time hour and run with it. Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1). The Spirit is always telling me to hurry; and He says, “Go forth, go forth, go forth.” He says it three times, which is like the Father, Son and Holy Ghost saying it.
You must examine yourself daily to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates (II Corinthians 13:5)? The Holy Ghost never gets impatient when we are sincere and really want to know who we are. At the end of each day, you should pray, “Lord, did I miss a soul today? Did I act like Jesus all the time? Did I give over to your Holy Spirit who lives on the inside of me? Did I treasure Him more than I did anyone else?”
Let the Spirit Have Control
How much do you depend on the Holy Spirit? Who is He to you; how do you treat Him, and what place does He have in your life? You cannot be in and out and up and down, and you can’t live in your feelings if you want to please Heaven.
The angels never live in their feelings; they live by faith and in all the wonders of divinity. They cooperate with true children of God who live holy, and they cooperate in every one of this Jesus ministry’s services. I can see angels just like you see people, and an angel stands by my side in every miracle service. In our big crusade services, angels will surround thousands of people and hold back the powers of darkness. They will come in with amazing glory, and they will shelter the people with divine love and grace.
When you are in the family of God, your body is a temple of God; and He walks inside of you. Ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people (II Corinthians 6:16). Paul knew this; and he said, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20).
At one time, Paul said he had been the chief of sinners. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief (I Timothy 1:15). But after Paul had been saved, God was able to use him in a mighty way because he had surrendered everything to God.
Paul had watched Stephen die, a young man who was the first martyr to be killed for the sake of Christ; and he died just like Jesus had done saying, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge (Acts 7:60). I am sure Paul could not get away from those words.
Soon after that, Paul was on his way to Damascus to arrest more Christians. He was self–righteous, full of the devil and headed for hell when the Lord knocked him down into the dust with such an impact that his sight left him; and he heard a voice saying, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do (Acts 9:4–6)? Paul never doubted Jesus from that moment, and he went on to become one of the greatest apostles.
Put Jesus First
Paul obeyed God in all things, and obedience means everything; but you cannot be obedient both to God and to your sinning family members. You cannot do what you want to do; you have to do what the Spirit wants you to do. If you have the Holy Ghost, you have royalty living with you; but are you obedient to Him or to those who are influenced by the devil? If you fail to take your stand, you will hinder people from coming to God; and whenever you compromise, you will lose.
Some of you are so concerned about hurting the feelings of some of those in your family when you should be thinking about not hurting the Holy Spirit. He is the only one who can get you ready to get out of here. In Revelation 2 and 3, read the letters to the seven churches that Jesus dictated to John the Revelator and see how much evil and righteousness you find in them. You must know that all seven of those letters apply to the world today; and you must know that they all go together now, saith the Lord. I never seek to please people; I seek to please the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.
Jesus told the disciples to pray that they would be accounted worthy to make the one flight out. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man (Luke 21:36). We are definitely end–time people, and I am going to listen to the Holy Spirit just as the Bible tells us to no matter what anybody else might think or do. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). I am going to preach what the Spirit tells me to preach, and I am going to give people God’s thoughts wherever I go.
Jesus came and brought back everything the devil had stolen from mankind. He paid for it, and it belongs to all who are in the Holy Ghost family. That is why the Bride is shining so brightly today, and she is the only light for the lost. She is lighting up this dark world for the last time because we are getting closer and closer to the end of this civilization.
We don’t have long, so we have to give over to the Spirit and move like we have never moved before. We have to be altar workers; we have to be prayer warriors, and we have to fast and seek the face of God. We have to listen to what the Spirit is saying rather than what people are saying. Don’t count your own life dear except for what it is worth to the Lord and what the Holy Ghost can use it for. Let the Holy Spirit use your hands for anything He wants to, and keep your eyes holy so they will be able to see whatever the Holy Spirit wants them to. You must have a tongue of fire that will speak nothing but truth, and that truth will penetrate into the stony hearts of people throughout the world.
Thus Saith the Lord
Yea, saith the Lord, I am here. I am giving you light, and I am letting it shine; but you must accept my light. Then in all humility, my Spirit will use you to shine that light like He used my Son, my Only Begotten, when He was here to shine the light all over the world. You must be obedient. You must be humble. You must be faithful. You must be true. I will walk with you and in you. I will shelter you; I will protect you. I will give you armfuls on purpose to serve, and you will never come up lacking. I will go with you to the ends of the Earth. Go, and fear not. Go, and bring in the lost in your final hour, saith the Lord.
Come to Jesus
You who are not saved, come to Jesus today and join the Holy Ghost family. Don’t be left when the one flight out takes place. Say this prayer right now: Oh, God, I don’t want to be left. I have sinned against Heaven, against God and against the Holy Ghost. Please, God, have mercy on my sinful soul! I want to be made pure, clean and holy. Lift me up into your arms of love and grace; and with the blood power, kiss away all my sin. Make me holy. Make me brand new in you, Jesus, and I will follow you the rest of my life. I believe your blood washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in!
If you meant that prayer, you can now say to the Lord, Thank God, I am free from all sin because you have given me your divine blood that will keep me free. I love your Son, Jesus, and I thank you for giving Him to me. One day, I will behold your face, dear God; and I will behold all of your glory. Until then, I will live holy and help bring in the lost.
Claim Your Miracle
Now, it is healing time, so expect miracles. Lord, here the people are; they need a miracle all over. Lord, you heal all kinds of diseases, even AIDS. Many people do not believe it can be done because medical science cannot do anything to cure AIDS; but, Lord, you have given us the Jesus blood cure, and people are being healed. Lord, heal the people of heart trouble, lung trouble, leprosy, cancer or any disease or affliction they have. Heal! in the name of Jesus! Heal! Feel that power going through you, and be thou made well. Then keep well, and work for Jesus so you can help us to take the Gospel to the whole world.
I hope to see you on the one flight out, and it won’t be long. Jesus is coming soon!
