Our beloved pastor and evangelist, Reverend Ernest Angley, went home to be with his Lord on May 7, 2021.
Ernest Winston Angley was born on August 9, 1921, in Mooresville, North Carolina to the late Julius and Fannie Angley.
At the young age of 18, Rev. Angley gave his heart to the Lord and began his lifetime of service to win the lost at any cost. He preached the Gospel in its fullness; and the Lord blessed the people with salvation, miracles and healings.
While attending college, Rev. Angley started dating his future wife, Esther Sikes; and together, they came to Akron, Ohio and established Grace Cathedral and later, Ernest Angley Ministries.
Rev. Angley was preceded in death by his beloved wife Esther (Angel), brothers and sisters, Judson, Clyde, Lillian (Tay), Leitha (Pete), Cleo and Bea. He is survived by his dear sister-in-law, Aline, much-loved niece, Gail, and many other family, friends, members of Grace Cathedral and ministry partners.
Reverend Angley will be greatly missed. He was not only a pastor, evangelist and author; he was also a true friend and a spiritual leader who cared deeply for his staff, congregation and ministry partners. They all loved him very much.
Rev. Angley’s legacy comes from his own words — “If I die before the Rapture takes place, I’d want these words to be said about me: He pleased God.”
Rev. Angley’s favorite scripture passage was, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5,6)
Notes of remembrance can be posted at ErnestAngley.org.

If I were to die before the Rapture, that is what I would want to be said about me—that I pleased God.
-Ernest Angley
Put the work of God above your very life; be willing to die for His name’s sake. I have told the Lord many times that if I can bring more people into the Kingdom by my death than by my life, so be it. In whatever way the Lord wants to use me, I want to be used. I don’t want to live a moment longer if I can’t win souls.
-Ernest Angley
No matter what comes their way, they know they must finish their work for the Lord. And then however they die, however the Lord can get the most glory out of their lives, they are willing. I know I am willing for the Lord to take me or use me however He wants to win souls for His work and for His divine purpose to be done.
-Ernest Angley
The Bible tells us in Acts 14:22 that Paul and Barnabas advised people to continue in the faith. They wouldn’t always be there to talk to them personally to bring them out of feelings. I say that to you today: Even if I’m not with you, you must continue in faith, not your feelings.
-Ernest Angley
If the Rapture doesn’t happen first, the Lord in a wonderful, gentle manner will light the path to Heaven all the way. Not even a shadow will darken the valley.
-Ernest Angley
I have told the Lord many times that if I can bring more people into the Kingdom by my death than by my life, so be it. In whatever way the Lord wants to use me, I want to be used. I don’t want to live a moment longer if I can’t win souls. I live to help people, to bless them.
-Ernest Angley
I have a standing order with the Lord: “Dear Jesus, anything that I ask you must be done according to your divine will or I don’t want it, no matter what I say. I just want prayers answered that are according to your divine will. Oh, please God, look at all my tomorrows and work accordingly.”
-Ernest Angley
I live to do God’s will. If He sees fit for me to make the Rapture, good; but if He sees fit to take me home before, that’s all right, too. If He wants to sacrifice my life to bring in more souls to His Kingdom, so be it. Whatever He wants, I want. Jesus died for me, and I’m willing to live or die for Him.
-Ernest Angley
My Journey is a short one; and although I know I may go home by way of the grave, I believe that I will meet Christ in the air in the Rapture.
-Ernest Angley
I have committed everything to the Lord; I have nothing left to give. Whether I live or die, all of my strength and every part of me belongs entirely to Him to use in any way that He desires. I can say with the Apostle Paul, For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand (II Timothy 4:6).
-Ernest Angley
Rev. Ernest Angley’s work will live for eternity. I wouldn’t know much as I know about God if it wasn’t for Him. His doctrine of the Holy Spirit answers all questions. His teaching on bible fasting just takes you to another level. His sermons just keep you on the straight and narrow road. I love Him so much and will miss Him. He still speaks though through His sermons and books. I pray God will enable me to run the race and make heaven at last; meet His servant and tell Him thank you.

My first visit to Grace Cathedral was in October 1986. I don’t remember the sermon that Rev. Angley preached that night but I do remember his eyes glistening with the glory of the Lord, looking like they were blue, when praying for the tv audience. I remember him laying hands on me and falling in the Spirit. When I got up I knew this was my church and Rev. Angley was my preacher. In 1992 I moved from New York State to Ohio to be a part of this Jesus Ministry. Rev. Angley was my preacher, teacher, spiritual dad, and friend. He talked with me countless times over the years to help and guide me. Love.. that is what he always showed me. Because of him I learned about holy living, true salvation, miracles and healings, the power in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and the Rapture. I will miss you Rev. Angley but I’m so glad you are with your precious Angel and most importantly your savior Jesus! I will meet you in Heaven. Heaven’s a wonderful place, and I’m going!
By Michelle Durkin on May 23, 2021 at 10:47 amIt has taken me weeks to find the words to say in memoriam of my Dearest Pastor Reverend Ernest Angley. We all will dearly miss him! In his passing, Earth has known a great loss but heaven has found a great gain.
Think of the vision of the stars Reverend Angley had…consequently all of those stars in heaven are probably still greating him! What a glorious reunion! I am thrilled that Reverend has been a part of the never-ending Camp Meeting up in heaven!
At this time we may be sorrowful, but joy cometh in the morning…and we have no choice but to meet him on that resurrection morning. It is our preivledge and our duty.
We won’t know all the ways the Lord works and how many more souls will come into the kingdom because of Reverend’s passing. But, as Reverends beloved wife Angel wrote in the flyleaf of her bible…Psalms 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect!
God Bless and keep you all!

It was truly an honor and privilege to know the Rev. Ernest Angley, to travel with him, to work with him to help bring in the Lord’s harvest of souls.
Rev Angley gave his whole life to God, working tirelessly to “win the lost at any cost”. In his services, whether it was at home or at a crusade service, the ushers and other workers found it hard to keep up with him. The strength the Lord gave him while he was under the anointing was extraordinary.
Because of Rev. Angley’s dedication to God, countless lives, generations of lives, have been changed, both physically and spiritually. He was always ready to say a prayer for those in need, day or night. We were all his children, and he was our “Papa”; he loved us, and we loved him.
Rev. Angley has now been given the desires of his heart - to be with Jesus and his beloved Angel, never to be separated from them again. He looked forward to this day, and now what joy is his - we will miss him, but we are happy for him!
We love you, Rev. Angley! See you in Heaven!
By Dave & Jody Lephew on May 22, 2021 at 11:18 pmWe are so thankful for having had Rev. Angley in our lives. He gave his life to win the lost and do God’s will and at the same time, touched our lives individually in a great way. We had the great pleasure of being able to speak with Rev. Angley when problems arose in our lives and it truly made such a difference. What I remember most is his fantastic love - it really was the most like Jesus. I’ve never seen anyone so patient, gentle, and willing to take time with us as Reverend. He will be missed but we are so so glad he is in Heaven and we are looking forward to meeting him soon.
By Maddy & Nathan Knapp on May 22, 2021 at 8:59 pmBecause Rev Angley answered the call to preach the uncompromising truth, my dad tuned in in the 70’s and introduced my family to Ernest Angley Ministries. While my dad didn’t surrender himself until many years later he was the one who introduced Rev Angley to my family. Which got Wendy and Gordy to start traveling to Ohio in 83 and then me in 86 and so on. I just celebrated 35 years of being saved and spirit filled all because of one man who answered the call of God. Never underestimate what YOU alone can do for him if you heed to the call he has for your life. I am heaven bound because of my precious preacher Rev Angley. Hurry Rapture! I’m ready to go. Cant wait to see you again Rev Angley. Love Tonya and all of my Canadian family.
By Tonya Micheli on May 22, 2021 at 7:09 pmReverend Angley was always kind to me and my family. He treated us like he knew us a long time even when we first met. I’m so thankful to God for bringing us his servant while we finish the work he and Angel started.
By Victoria Ward on May 22, 2021 at 6:26 pmSo thankful and blessed to have known you Rev.Angley, if it wasn’t for you we never would of made it to the states. You never judged me or my family! You always took the time to see me whether I was saved or a backslider. The impact you made can never be forgotten. So until we meet again. Forever in my heart love always! Rest easy in heaven

By Rev. Michael Appiah on May 22, 2021 at 2:09 pmReverend Angley was a true man of God, always willing to do a work for the Lord. He was there whenever my family needed encouragement, guidance, or prayer. He will be greatly missed here on earth, but rewarded for all his work in Heaven. I pray those he touched can watch the funeral celebration. I am sure many were at the gate of Heaven when he entered in.
By Janet McGaha on May 22, 2021 at 1:57 pmHis teachings and sermons so much touched my life. I used to write him e mails whenever i feel down and he would reply me with words of encouragement from the Word of God and the blest cloths he always sent me. His message was purely centered on salvation, the winning of souls to Christ and living a pure life free from sin. I enjoy the gospel tracts he posted on his website and one article that still touches my heart is that of the forbidden fruit, where he narrated the story of Adam and Eve and their fall from grace until the coming of Jesus to redeem us.

By Jaylana Bell on May 22, 2021 at 11:26 amThe man and his ministry profoundly changed my life! Far beyond the healings, which were extraordinary, by way of a healing service, my life took a 180 degree turn - upward! My prayer on line that day was, “Jesus, if you’re real, today would be a great day to let me know.” His answer was clear and unmistakeable. We are now 40+ years later….. and to Ernest I can only say “Thank you, my friend.” May Heaven welcome you warmly for a job well done!
By Peter Hawkins on May 22, 2021 at 9:55 amRev. Ernest Angley prayed for me, my family in times of trouble. We were healed several times.
