The Results of the Blend of the Holy Spirit and the Early Church

What meaneth this? astonished people wanted to know when they heard those who had gone to the Upper Room speaking in tongues (Acts 2:12). Not only unbelievers, but many in the Christian world down through the years have never really understood what the Holy Ghost baptism meant. Few have come to the realization and knowledge of what meaneth this. That’s the reason there have been so many weak Christians, why no more has been accomplished in the past for the Lord. In this last hour, however, the Bride will know the answer to all that is in what meaneth this; there will be no lack of her knowledge. The Holy Ghost will teach her the life of Jesus, the greatness, the power of Him to do all the wonderful works that He promised would be done through His true people.
The blend of the Holy Ghost with the human spirit in Jesus when He walked the earth showed man how the greatness of God was meant to work through believers. People declared they had never heard nor seen anyone like Him. After the Early Church came into the knowledge of what meaneth this, they went forth with the same quality, the same power, the same greatness, love, faith, courage, patience, goodness, mercy, the same everything of Jesus.
Now in our day as God is blending His Spirit with His true Church, we are learning how that blend worked in the Early Church and the results that came from it.
The word blend means to mix, to unite, to go well together, to harmonize, to produce a desired quality. The Lord desires to blend the human spirit with the Holy Spirit to bring about a desired quality, the Jesus quality. To have this blend, you must harmonize with the truth of God completely. In this blend is no fear of man or the powers of the evil one.
Through the blood, Jesus made it possible to unite divinity and the human. If it were not for the divine blood, this unity would not have happened. The blood must be applied to your heart before the Holy Ghost will come in and set up His office work in your life. Without the temple being cleansed, He will not move in.
And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it (Isaiah 35:8). You reach that highway of holiness by taking the thoughts of God. His thoughts are not your thoughts, and His ways not your ways. Cast down your opinions and embrace the Lord’s opinions, His thoughts. On that path, that highway of holiness, God can use you to do anything and all things that He wants done. When led by the Spirit, you do not give over to the flesh or the lust of the flesh. You give over to the Holy Spirit, to the righteousness, holiness and greatness of God.
Filled with the Holy Ghost from Birth
The Lord gave Isaiah the prophet insight to John the Baptist; Isaiah called his voice the voice of one that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God (Isaiah 40:3). Matthew 1-3 bears witness to the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy: In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. What kind of desert was Isaiah speaking of? What kind of a desert needed a highway for our God? The desert of the desolate soul. All souls are desolate without the Lord, but everyone who gives his soul to the Lord will find that He takes over and paves a highway of holiness in that soul. No more desolation, no more desert. The soil is fertile. A highway, a way of holiness will be there.
The voice of John the Baptist blended one hundred percent with the Holy Ghost. An angel told his father: He shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb (Luke 1:15). Born with the Holy Ghost, John never went into the world of sin. What a marvelous forerunner of Jesus he was! John proclaimed the first coming of Jesus, and now the Bride of Christ is proclaiming His second coming.
As the forerunner of the second appearance of Jesus, giving the message to the world, the Bride must have the same kind of voice, the same blend with the Holy Spirit that John had. The Holy Ghost, when blended with the human spirit and mixed together in all the greatness of God, will make one great, powerful voice to shake the world once more before final judgment comes.
How exciting to see all this greatness take place, to see the blended quality that God has now in many people, the special quality produced through the Holy Ghost blended with the human spirit! When that heavenly quality is in a person, he acts, talks, works and loves like Jesus.
Jesus Received the Holy Ghost
Jesus came down, took on the form of flesh. He became very man as well as very God. As very God, He did not need to be baptized in the Holy Ghost, but as very man—our example—He did. It was necessary for both John the Baptist and Jesus to have the Holy Ghost, and it is necessary for the members of the Bride to have Him. In fact, all who are alive on planet Earth when Jesus comes the second time will need the Holy Ghost in order to be a member of the bridal company, changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, caught up with Jesus in the Rapture.
The blend of the Holy Spirit in the Early Church caused people to ask what meaneth this? Peter didn’t blend very well with the Holy Spirit before the Resurrection of Jesus. He was up and down with this yielding to the Lord. People today, too, are up and down. They need what Peter finally received. They need to give their hearts to the Lord, go to the Upper Room and be baptized with the real Holy Ghost; then they will have power for service and power to say No to the devil, power to overcome all sin and everything unlike the Lord.
You Crucified Him!
After receiving the Holy Ghost, Peter went forth with power. Was he in danger? Absolutely. Jesus, remember, had recently been crucified, and Peter was facing many of those same people who had cried out for His death. But Peter now had something different; he had the blend of the Holy Spirit with his spirit. What a blend it was! Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words (Acts 2:14). Peter told them that they were the ones who had crucified Christ, that God had raised Him up from the grave, and that the manifestation they were seeing was the pouring out of the Spirit that Joel had prophesied about. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls (Acts 2:41). Peter, the man who once had been such a weakling that he cursed and denied Christ, now was a might giant for the Lord. The drastic change in Peter demonstrates the difference between having the blend of the Holy Spirit and not having it.
Amazing Miracles
Peter and John met a man, lame from his mother’s womb, who asked them for alms. Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God (Acts 3:6-8).
Hearing of the miracle that made the lame man whole, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering (Acts 3:11). They were filled with wonder and amazement. Peter saw the crowd, and seized the opportunity to preach Jesus. Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand (Acts 4:4).
Although the miracle amazed people, not all were delighted to see it. The rulers, elders and scribes, Annas the high priest, Caiaphas and others asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:7-12). The rulers hated the name Jesus; imagine how they felt when Peter told them that the miracle was done by that name, that Jesus is the only name that brings salvation. Peter wasn’t preaching to gain their approval, but to tell the truth, and he was unafraid. Jesus had conquered death. Why should he fear it? Jesus had even baked fish and eaten with the disciples after the Resurrection. He was very much alive. Peter had no doubts now that he would live forever with the Master; he had lost sight of his house of clay.
Holy Boldness
The Early Church, threatened with imprisonment, torture and death, prayed: Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul (Acts 4:29-32). They prayed, and the Holy Ghost shook the place. He is a real person, and He goes into action when He is given freedom to move. It was wonderful the way God poured out His power in the Early Church when they were in one mind and one soul with the Holy Spirit!
The human mind and spirit united with the Holy Spirit is the mix God needs in order to do His will in perfection. Jesus had been able to move on only about one hundred twenty to go to the Upper Room. The Holy Ghost had not yet been given, was not yet free to bring about that perfect blend of the Holy Spirit and the human spirit. But after the Holy Ghost fell, multitudes came into the mix. Realize the difference the baptism in the Holy Ghost brings. No wonder Jesus said, It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you (John 16:7). You must have the Holy Ghost; He is power from On High.
One Mind, One Accord
The Early Church opened their hearts, received Christ and let the Holy Ghost come into their lives to fill them to the brim. It was a takeover by the Spirit. When you allow in your life the takeover by the Holy Spirit, you have the perfect blend. However, you must live in the truth, the holiness and righteousness of God to keep that blend. You cannot mix self with the Holy Spirit and expect Him to stay. Selfishness, grumbling, complaining, bickering and malice will make that blend impossible.
Many claiming to have that blend with the Holy Spirit do not really have it. If that blend isn’t there, something is wrong. Make sure you are baptized in the real Holy Spirit, that your spirit blends with His and there is a mix; make sure that the Holy Spirit hasn’t rejected your spirit for the mix. The Holy Spirit will reject a spirit that isn’t right, one in which He can’t produce the Jesus quality.
It is essential that you first come into one mind and one accord with the Lord, with what He has taught and said before you can be in one mind and one accord with God’s true people. On the Day of Pentecost, those in the Upper Room were in one mind, one accord. At last they believed all that Jesus had said was true. They believed without a doubt that He was the Son of God, the Redeemer of Israel.
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Through the blood of Jesus, you have life. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). How can you let the mind of Christ be in you unless you take on the pure truth? You take on the mind of Christ by taking the truth. The Early Church allowed the Holy Spirit to take them completely over; they came into the mind of truth, the mind of Jesus, as the Holy Ghost possessed them. They understood the greatness of Jesus, the meaning of His coming and of all that He brought for them. Filled with joy and praise, they rejoiced over what the Crucifixion and Resurrection had done for them.
The Lord will perform millions of miracles in this last hour; multitudes will be swept into the Kingdom in a moment of time. Wherever we go, all kinds of miracles will be performed by the Lord. In only one crusade service overseas, 64,577 people received the baptism in the Holy Ghost. God numbered them. No one taught anyone else to speak in tongues. They spoke in tongues as the Holy Spirit gave the utterance. No one taught those in the Upper Room to speak in tongues, either; the Holy Ghost did the speaking. Some people, however, have been baptized in self, not in the Holy Ghost. They have been fooled. Flesh tries to do the speaking, and the devil joins in. He loves flesh. There is no mix, no Jesus quality, no blend of the Holy Spirit with the human spirit.
And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one (Acts 5:12,14-16). For doing these wonderful things, Peter and other apostles were put into jail.
But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life (Acts 5:19,20). The jailkeepers didn’t know that an angel had passed right by them in the night and opened the prison doors. Many today don’t recognize that the power of God is working miracles. Angels move, deliver, do their work; but those spiritually dead remain untouched by it all.
Go to the temple and teach, the angel told the apostles. Would you have done what the angel said? If you had the same kind of mix that Peter and the others had, that wonderful blend with the Holy Spirit, you, too, would have heeded the angel’s instructions.
The next day when the officers came to bring out the apostles, they returned to the high priest and the council saying that the prison was shut, the keepers standing outside, but no one was inside. Then one rushed in saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people (Acts 5:25). The captain and the officers went to bring them back, without violence, of course, for they were afraid the people would stone them if they were seen mishandling the apostles.
They Lied to the Holy Ghost
Strange things had been happening around Jerusalem for a number of days. Ananias and his wife told a lie—they thought it was a white lie—but the Lord said they had lied to the Holy Spirit. What does God think of lying? All liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8). A liar is deceitful, and God can’t stand deceit. Peter asked Ananias, Why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost (Acts 5:3)? Why did you let the devil fool you, Ananias? You didn’t lie to me; thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God (Acts 5:4). For lying to God, Ananias was struck dead.
Sapphira, Ananias’ wife, told the same lie. Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband (Acts 5:9,10). Great fear came on the Church when they heard these things. When sincere people recognize the judgment of God, they move in closer to the Lord. Never blaming Him or questioning His motives, they respect Him and yield to Him in all His ways; they have that good mix.
Our society today is full of lies and deceit. This is an hour of deceit. The day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition (II Thessalonians 2:2,3). The spirit of the Antichrist, the man of sin, certainly is being manifested today and is growing stronger and stronger in the land. Soon the Antichrist will make his appearance to the whole world.
Obey God, Not Man
When the apostles were warned not to teach in the name of Jesus, they simply said, We ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29). Obey God no matter who rises up against you. The disciples had seen Jesus crucified, talked with Him after the Resurrection, knew He was the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of God. Peter said, We are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him (Acts 5:32).
By Peter saying that the Holy Ghost was given to those who obeyed Him, the council and the high priest were cut to the heart. They weren’t obedient, and they did not have the Holy Ghost. Those in the council wanted to slay them, but one Pharisee, Gamaliel, stood up warning; if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God (Acts 5:38,39). It was sensible advice.
The lives of the apostles were spared, but nevertheless, they were beaten and commanded again to not speak in the name of Jesus. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ (Acts 5:41,42). The more the Early Church was persecuted the more they set the captives free.
What Does It Mean to Be a New Creation?
What meaneth this? It means man can be born new, have a new life through the diving blood of Jesus that was spilled for the salvation of all mankind who accept it. It means man can walk with his God all the time, can be as pure as the first Adam, the first Eve. The prophecy of Joel concerning the rain of the Holy Spirit has been fulfilled, as well as the prophecies in the Old Testament that told of the Messiah, Redeemer and Liberator Jesus.
What meaneth this? It means we can have happiness from Heaven as Adam and Eve had in the beginning, peace, joy unspeakable and full of glory. We can be free from all condemnation, be justified before God, perfect in love. We can find grace and favor in the eyes of God.
What meaneth this? It means we can be cleansed of all sin, sanctified, made holy for the Master’s use. We can have plain paths to walk.
What meaneth this? It means God walks with the people who please Him the way Enoch did. It means we can go into the lions’ den for our God, into the fiery furnace and the forth man, Jesus, will be wih us. It means once again man and woman can be a son or a daughter of God. It means the Babe in the manger was truly the divine Son of God born of the Virgin Mary. The angels did sing and announce His birth. It means that at twelve years of age, Jesus did have all the answers, and He still has the answers today. What does this mean? It means John did see the Holy Ghost descending on Jesus in the form of a dove; he did hear a voice from Heaven saying, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased!
What meaneth this? It means Jesus did fast forty days and nights, met the devil head-on and won for us. It means Jesus did preach the blessed Sermon on the Mount, the greatest sermon ever given. He did give Peter power to walk the waters.
What meaneth this? It means Jesus did heal all manner of sicknesses and diseases—and He is still doing the same thing today. He did heal the noble man’s son, the centurion’s servant, the woman with an issue of blood, the Syrophenician’s devil-possessed daughter and many, many others.
What meaneth this? It means that Legion, possessed with thousands of devils, was set free from devil possession. It means that Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, fed multitudes with a few loaves and fishes. He made it possible for a man, crippled for thirty-eight years, to walk. He opened the eyes of the blind, healed a withered hand, delivered a boy from seizures.
What meaneth this? It means Jesus gave power to the twelve to heal the sick and cast out devils; and then He gave that power to the seventy. It means that this power is promised to all believers.
What meaneth this? It means Jesus went to the whipping post, and with His blood stripes we are healed. It means He bore our sins and our sicknesses. His blood cleanseth us from all sin, and anyone who wants can be a new creature in Christ Jesus, a new creation. It means that the sixteenth chapter of Mark’s Gospel is true: He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; …they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:16-18). Signs shall follow believers.
What meaneth this? It means the Jesus Gospel will be preached to all nations. He did come forth from the grave, conquering death, hell and the grave for us. It means because He lives, we live also; and we will live for all eternity. It means everyone can and should receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:39).
What meaneth this? It means Jesus is our Lily of the Valley, our Rose of Sharon. He is our advocate, our Savior, our Lord, our Master, our Redeemer Kinsman, our King, our Elder Brother, our sacrificial Lamb, our Good Shepherd. He is our substitute, our light eternal, our bread and water of life. Jesus is our peace, our joy, our love, our understanding of God, our way of abundant life.
What meaneth this? Jesus is our beloved and we are His; He is our strength for the journey. He is the answer to our problems, our earth’s supply, our heavenly supply, our eternal faith. He is everything we need. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
What meaneth this? In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us (Romans 8:37). We can trample devils underfoot, for we have victory in Jesus.
What meaneth this? It means I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13). All His promises are true; all can be used; they are for us today. Each promise has the life of God in it.
What meaneth this? It means that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. With Jesus we have nothing to fear, nothing to worry about. We can tear down the strongholds of the devil, rescue men, women, boys and girls; deliver the devil possessed and place them in the hands of God through the blood that stained the Old Rugged Cross. It means that no power can stand before the children of God in this final hour. All power is given to the Bride of Christ. It means that we can climb the highest mountains, defeated by nothing. We will rescue those in darkness, shine the light of God into the darkest of the night to light up the way for people to come to Jesus. Our voices will go throughout the earth crying, Come to Jesus! Come to Jesus! Multitudes will flock to Him. This is our hour of deliverance, of greatness. Our Lord cometh! Our Lord cometh!
What meaneth this? It means the Son of God is really the truth. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36). Through Christ Jesus, you can be free from sin.
What meaneth this? We have the Teacher from Heaven, the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things (John 14:26). Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth (John 16:13).
What meaneth this? The great promise has come. His true disciples will do His works. He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12). We have come to the hour of the greater works. Satan’s kingdom will reel and rock under the impact of the greatness of God. Walking in the love of Jesus, in the faith of Jesus, we will conquer through the name of Jesus and the blood! Blessed be the name of the Lord! In His name He said we would do it. We can speak His name because we are united with Him; we have the right mix, the same Jesus quality through the Holy Ghost and the blood of Jesus. Jesus is coming; doing His works means getting His message to everyone throughout the nations. Jesus is coming! Get ready everyone! Who are you and what are you? A child of God, a child of the King filled and thrilled with the good Holy Ghost and with power from On High, power for service.
What meaneth this? It means we will be overcomers. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33). All we have to do is use His power and we will have the victory daily. Don’t worry about what the devil is doing. Jesus said, I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world (John 17:15,16). Can the Lord say that about you? Can He say, “Father, this one is not of the world just as I am not of the world”? Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:17). Jesus is the truth; through Jesus we are sanctified by His blood. To be sanctified means to be made holy.
What meaneth this? Read the acts of the Holy Ghost through the lives of the apostles and others in the book of Acts. The majority of people today do not know what meaneth this, and because of it, they do not have power from On High. They not only don’t live holy lives, they think it impossible for anyone to live holy.
God Chose Stephen
I want to take you to a mighty blend, to a young man with the quality of Jesus. He acted like Jesus, talked like Jesus and died like Him praying for his enemies. Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost [did] great wonders and miracles among the people (Acts 6:5,8). Why could God choose him to be the first martyr? Because of the blend. A young man had yielded, had united with the Holy Ghost and given himself over to the real mix of the human spirit, and the divine Spirit of God. The Lord said, That’s my choice. He won’t compromise; he has the same quality as my Only Begotten Son. Did Jesus compromise with the devil at any time? Of course not. There was no spirit of compromise in Him. Acts 7:55 tells us that Stephen was full of the Holy Ghost. He wasn’t full of the world, of disobedience or self. Stephen had no hate in him, no envy, no strife. None of that will mix with the Holy Spirit. He had nothing in him but the greatness of the Lord. When you are full of something, there is no room for anything else.
People who are unable to forgive are not full of the Spirit. If you are full of the Spirit you can overcome that which is unlike Jesus. If you are full of the things of God, there is no place for anything that isn’t of God. You are like the first Adam, the first Eve. There is no deceit, no rebellion, no disobedience, only perfect trust.
Because he was full of God’s faith and power, Stephen was able to do great wonders and miracles. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake (Acts 6:19). Those disputing with him were not able to resist the wisdom of the Spirit. Furious, they stirred up people and set up false witnesses (Acts 6:13). And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel (Acts 6:15). A face with anger in it is not the face of an angel. The face of disobedience is not the face of an angel. The face of an angel is pure, holy, innocent as a little babe, the eyes clear. It’s wonderful to look into the eyes of an angelic being.
Stephen, preaching the truth, said, This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear (Acts 7:37). They were hearing about Jesus, the Prophet of whom Moses spoke, the Prophet that sent Stephen to preach to them.
The fire of the Holy Ghost was really burning now. Stephen, in speaking about Moses, proved from the Law that he was on the right track, that he was not a heretic. He told them to their faces what they were and what they had done: Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which showed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep (Acts 7:51-60). Stephen fell asleep in Jesus. The Bible didn’t call it death, for the Lord had conquered death. Stephen gave everything to preach that sermon recorded in the seventh chapter of Acts.
What meaneth this? It means that death is like sleep to the child of God. Just close your eyes and wake up in Glory. Jesus took the sting out of that monster death and turned it into a door leading to a wonderful life with Him forevermore. Jesus conquered death, hell and the grave.
What meaneth this? It means that all the love, all the faith of God, all Heaven is ours.
Jesus Will Come Again
What meaneth this? It means that one day we will walk down the Avenue of Glory, stop by a gorgeous mansion and hear the Lord say, This is yours. It means that we will be happy as the eternal ages roll. Jesus said, In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:2,3).
What meaneth this? Jesus did go away, and He will come again. He will come. Angels said to the disciples, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven (Acts 1:11). There is no need to be discouraged. Jesus will come. Hurry, do as He said. Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49). But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). Jesus commanded the disciples to not depart from Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high, the power of the Holy Ghost (Luke 24:49). He told then, John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:5).
The disciples didn’t know what being baptized with the Holy Ghost meant, but they had learned enough about Jesus and the power of His Resurrection to know that He had all power. Such wonderful knowledge gave them strong hearts to go forward to obey Him in everything. The voice of truth, the voice of Jesus will give you that kind of courage to obey and believe everything He said and is still saying. It is all in the Bible; it’s yours.
Jesus Goes Before His Children
The greatness and presence of Jesus gives us the strength to stand. We must not let our hearts be troubled anymore, must not be afraid. He who conquered death is with us all the way. He is not only sending us to the world: He is going with us as we take the Gospel. He will be there in every service wherever we go—Jesus, the crucified one, the one with the nail prints in His hands.
Traveling to one nation with the Gospel, I had been praying, Oh God, bless this nation! God bless this nation! We were on the plane preparing to land. As I was looking to the Lord, suddenly I went into a vision. To take it all in so quickly was impossible. There I was at the cross—or so I thought. Two arms were outstretched. Then the arms dropped, and I saw that it was Jesus. I was astonished! He was going before me into that nation. I was so close to Him that I could clearly see the back of His head, the highlights in His hair, the color. He was wearing a coarse robe. Then He showed me the power of the Holy Spirit pouring like mighty rain upon that nation. I knew we were in for a mighty crusade. It’s the only time I have ever looked at the back of Jesus’ head, been so close in a vision and seen such details.
God’s power did rain! In one of the services, the Lord came down wrapped in a pillar of fiery light that spun around and around, and how the power fell! God was there; the power of the Holy Ghost shook the place.
What meaneth this? It means that people everywhere will hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It means that rockets of His power are shooting forth to the nations with the great love, might and power of the Holy Ghost. It means that God will shake lives as He reveals Himself to be the Christ, the Son of the living God.
What meaneth this? It means we have a limited time to evangelize the world. It means that we must be about our Father’s business. It means that we must work while it is yet day, for the night cometh. It means that victory is ours, that we will please God.
Enoch walked with God many years after Adam ceased walking with Him. Once again God had found a man who pleased Him. Today there are many who are pleasing the Lord as Enoch pleased Him. Each member of the bridal company is walking with Him.
Who is she coming up out of the wilderness leaning on her beloved? She is the Bride. What meaneth this? It means that the Holy Ghost dispensation is mighty and great. It will indeed close with the Bride of Christ being taken out. It means that He is coming after a Bride, after a Church without spot, wrinkle, blemish or any such thing. You must be born new to have this Holy Ghost baptism. You must be pure in heart before the Holy Ghost will move into your heart, before you have the blend, the holy mix of the Holy Spirit with the born-new human spirit. If you will become pure in heart, you will recognize the greatness of God and the greatness of the power of the Holy Ghost. You will hunger and thirst after such power, crying, What meaneth this? It means you can be saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit, and ready for the Rapture—for He promised.
Are you living a holy life? You won’t get to Heaven unless you are. Are you really living for Jesus?
What meaneth this? It means that nothing less than holy living is acceptable to God. It means that the Lord has come down to tabernacle with the man and woman He had made. It means that when He appears we’ll be just like Him. We will have the same kind of glorified body He had after He was resurrected. He showed that body to the disciples, introduced them to the living reality of eternity, the resurrected Christ. As we look into the Holy Scripture, we see it, too.
Where Will You Spend Eternity?
Sinner, will you have that glorified body? Where will you spend eternity? Is what you’re doing worth missing eternity with the Lord? Are you willing to pay the price for sin among the damned as the eternal ages roll? When the Lord seals the door on the devil, his angels, and the unholy to never hear their voices again, will you be among them? Will He wipe you out of His mind to remember you no more?
If you are not right with God, feel the earth shaking under you, separating, and the mouth of hell opening wide to swallow you up. The cry of God is to you today, there may not be another cry for you to hear. The Spirit is calling you. Today is the day of salvation. If you are not ready to meet God, you can be. Cry to God this prayer: Oh, God: Save my soul! I’m so sorry that I sinned against you, but I have come home. I’m going to serve you, Lord, the rest of my life. I believe Jesus died for me, and I believe that through His shed blood I will be set free from all my sins right now. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in Jesus!
If you meant that prayer, He has come. If you meant it, He is yours.
You Can Be Healed
You who need healing, the Lord has it for you. The Bible says that the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15). God is the healer; I am His believer. Heart trouble, blindness, crippled limbs, cancer, tuberculosis—it doesn’t matter; God heals them all. What meaneth this? It means that you can be healed of all manner of sicknesses, diseases and deformities. Jesus said, If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it (John 14:14). If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23). All things are possible; that covers your case. Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you. I bring the little children, those who are crippled, those who were born with just part of a brain. You’ve healed these conditions again and again in others, and God, you are no respecter of persons. What you do for one, you will do for others. You’ve brought complete deliverance to those who had no hope. Lord, heal the cancer victims, the heart patients, those who are paralyzed. Let your power flow now from your gift of miracles. From you gifts of healing it comes in the name of your Son Jesus. Heal! Heal in the mighty, mighty name of Jesus!
The healing power is flowing. Don’t you feel the presence of Him? That presence has gone inside, into the flesh, into the blood stream and nervous system, into the brain and muscles. It will work night and day to get you or your loved one well; only believe. God bless you. Watch daily for all improvements and rejoice. Then write and tell me what God did for you.
Thus Saith the Lord
I have called you to my anointing. I have told you the greatness of my anointing, and my anointing works. My anointing breaks every bondage. My anointing destroys all sicknesses and diseases, all deformities—my holy anointing. And I have told my people to put value on my anointing, to treasure my anointing, to be careful with my anointing, to not let it be contaminated in any way, to no let self mar the greatness in my anointing so that my anointing can work in perfection. The Bride will carry my anointing, and she will treasure it with her very life. She will pay any cost to have my anointing. She will pay any price to use my anointing. There will be no burden that will be too great for her to carry to have my anointing. My anointing will make her burdens lighter. My anointing will give her great wisdom and great knowledge. My anointing will bring the multitudes into the Kingdom. Be mindful of my anointing. Never, never come into my presence, asking without my anointing. That’s the reason so many have gone away disappointed, they didn’t come to me in my anointing. I have given you my anointing, and I have called you unto me with that anointing so that I can deliver you, so that you can believe. And in my anointing, my faith works in perfection, and my love works in perfection. Use my anointing, and receive. Use my anointing and break fetters and bondages for others. Use my anointing as I used it when I was here on planet Earth. And it will work because it is my greatness, saith he Lord.
